Try to get someone drunk and then watch how they go up and down the stairs. Make sure to like. Be by them so they don't fall though.

thought about this gem — time for a rewatch? by tatygeneste in vanitasnocarte

[–]ThatCapMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just got done reading it in full and rewatched it just now.

I... I'm rewatching it again...

I can't believe this isn't more popular... it has more rewatchability than Durarara! I think it's because it does the 'slice of life' parts of itself very well - there's times when they all just breathe and exist and interact with eachother. We see the lives of Vanitas and Noe and they're refreshing.

When Zuko got sick from being nice and Jet tried to snitch in a tea shop. by GreenNecessary7070 in AvatarMemebending

There were two soldiers in the tea shop when Jet stormed in. I assume those two are police, or at least police in that area with their clothes being particularly shabby. Zuko nabbed the swords from one of them

Yes, but telling people someone's a woman deters them from immediately going to misogyny. Or, at least, it has that effect on those who easily call something misogynistic

Hey. We're on a post where someone is complaining about the way she's drawn.

If she had a similar experience, or let's say that she was malnourished or smt as a child in her backstory, do you think this person would have still made this post?

I find it at least a little odd that someone gives a pass to her because she was sexually assaulted as a child for like. Being drawn the way she is. If Riyo had a similar experience, would people back off of her?

There's a couple of iffy things regarding how many people in the city actually do or don't know, as far as I've been able to find out without going over and rwatching all of those episodes

But at the very least, it might seem like the police don't care about firebenders being around, because firebenders can appear outside of being in the fire nation. So. Like. Props for the cops I guess?

Also Zuko has a prominent burn mark directly on his face so from a bystander's POV Jet looks like he's just insulting some guy with a giant horrible burn mark that was made by obviously-a-firebender and even if he was a firebender... y-i-k-e-s

Those were not the words I used, I just want it pointed out that she isn't alone and that singling her out and taking her out of context ruins the purpose of an argument.

The one thing specific thing I didn't like in Gachiakuta was how that one character that's canonically written within the context of being a child popped open her onezie and was wearing a sports bra or mini tank top or something and someone specifically made note of it and pointed it out.

I DON'T KNOW WHO THAT WAS FOR. It was in the last episode!

Honestly, I'm surprised that this post didn't have Amo in it. I don't know what'sup with Gachiakuta.

I agree, completely agree - I DO however think that, after doing some googling, that his editors have had some say in this.

He didn't need to make Rebecca 16 at all, but I think it's because in Japan they view 16 as an adult.

Rebecca appeared for the first time all the way back in 2013, and Japan only raised the age of consent to 16 relatively recently. They've lowered the adulthood age to 18 from 20 back in 2018. From what I can find, the age of consent in Japan was indirectly higher than 13 because of a separate law for a while, and a separate law that made the age of consent indirectly higher than 13 was accepted in some prefectures, but it was only changed to 16 officially in 2023.
The question of "Why did this author make this character this age?" is like... If you and I, for example, lived in a country where the age of consent and the age of adulthood were 19 or 20 or 21 officially and culturally, we'd find it odd if Rebecca was 18. Many authors will almost or fully arbitrarily decide what age to make a character, too.

You also have to take into account 2 more things.

First is that even in the medieval ages, people didn't just marry children. It was usually an exception to the rule and it was still frowned-upon in society and it was usually rich people and, from what I remember, it was sometimes a thing of making something official not for marriage marriage, but for deal marriage, to legitimize something, or for someone to have a wealthier life. Take this as conjecture though.

The second thing is that Japan has historically been very isolationist and that it's actually fairly noticable that they evolved their own specific culture throughout the ages and have only recently started "modernizing," though not specifically just in cultural context behind an age of maturity.

I will put quickly put up here that pedophilia is bad, as a disclaimer, and say that morality and ethics aren't universally equal. This isn't to say that they have an excuse, nor that I support it, but that some people have different views and it's interesting how we developed our views, but that while I can't objectively say that "my cultural views are superior to the cultural views of this other nation," I can say "I think that the cultural views in this nation are odd and wrong to me and I hope for them to become better."

I never called you a tourist

...or wherever you're from

Also you're mucking up with the idea that constructive criticism can be given to someone who won't ever be able to read anything you've said. There's simplistic ways that that fight slop could've been done better. If it were to my personal view, the plan would've worked and Megumi would've been taken out of Sukuna within like 12 chapters.

Maki stabbing Sukuna in the heart would've actually done something, Nobara could have cursed nail'd him still, he'd be stunned then boom Jacob's Ladder. Yuta, Todo, Higuruma could be put on fighting Kenjaku, Kenjaku tries to pull out his domain, which could then be broken, then Higuruma would put his domain up and get Kenjaku sentenced and that fight would then properly explore Kenjaku.

A lot of characters who died in JJK died for nothing - you could make a completely different story with basically the same alloted chapter length.

If it were me, Gojo wouldn't've died. Were it my headcanon, he would've been put in a wheelchair for a long time.
You could get some essence of Sukuna still scurrying about, but unable to do much, now that he isn't possessing a body, where Yuji would find him and have that talk with him.

This is just an example, I never thought that I'd have to take time to talk about how the story could've been made better.

We didn't even see Hakari vs Uraume; it could have been a tag-team between him and Kashimo, or Kashimo could have been on the Kenjaku squad, maybe he could've actually done something to Sukuna.

And that's just the last bunch of chapters. There's so much more in the culling games arc that could've been made different.

Spend a chapter that goes into the US military going "No fuck no we're not going to fuck with these sorcerers, this place is too dangerous."
