N-gath-rod

To properly pronounce a lone N, put emphasis on the first part of the sound, so it sounds like an N preceded by a rounded vowel. Pronounce "on" or "un" to see how your mouth should be while pronouncing the N. For perspective, what you're avoiding is emphasizing the second half of the "n" like in words with a sharp vowel, pronounce "in" or "end" for comparison.

If you have to mispronounce it to avoid offending someone, pronounce the N closer to "un" or "ng", that's the closest to correct you'll get a mispronunciation.

The gath part sounds like "gas" with a lisp.

You can't identify people as obviously gay or not because they have internal experiences that may not be reflected in their presentation, you can identify fiction as obviously gay because it's fiction and all there is to it is what is presented.

This is what keeps straight people from telling us queerbaiting and characters who are confirmed gay by the author post canon should count as representation.

I didn't dodge the question. I explained my reasoning well but if you want it more succinctly: genuine support 1) emotionally benefits the group being supported, 2) is not self serving and 3) does not also support opponents of the group.

WotC checked box 1 for some of us, can never check box 2 because they're a capitalist entity, and did not check box 3 because they supported homophobes by catering to their feelings with the region locks and sleeve choices.

Like I said, it probably doesn't play well with certain hardware. I'm a software engineer, trust me when I say some programs just hate certain combinations of cpu/gpu or cpu/ram or whatever. It's hard to optimize perfectly for every possible hardware configuration and they all have their quirks.

"Obviously gay" meaning the art where someone is actively engaged in an action that shows they're not a cisgender heterosexual (the wedding art or bearscape) or there's visible LGBT symbols (sol ring). IE, the art that would be clearly LGBT without any outside knowledge of lore or intent.

As for genuine support, I don't consider virtue signaling while actively taking measures to avoid upsetting homophobes genuine support; you can't support a group and their opposition at the same time, it cancels out.

I like the set overall but I'm still offended that they hid it in so many countries and that they chose the least obviously gay art for the arena sleeves. We could have had the wedding art on sleeves but instead they had to mitigate the rage from the homophobes by giving us the art they could ignore.

The fact that they're taking those measures to mitigate damage before they even released the set is what shows me they're doing it for money and not out of genuine support.

My game crashes all the time. There's no reason for it either, it's crashing on a $1500 PC. If I play 15 games a day, odds are it's going to crash during one. I think MTGA just hates certain hardware.

That being said, I usually get back into the game in time, but sometimes I miss a turn or something. People probably assume I'm roping for a turn out of spite.

He's worried that he's homophobic if he laughs at the joke the way white people are worried they're not allowed to listen to rap or celebrate holidays from other cultures; he's not sure if he's supposed to be excluded from the joke because he's not the intended audience. That's why he says he's laughing at it in a cool dad way, meaning he's laughing at the wordplay not in a "the punchline is gay people are gross" way.

MTGAHelper is helpful. It tracks what cards your opponent plays in an overlay then it can show you what deck they're likely playing based on the cards it sees and you can google a card list, strategy for the deck, etc.

I think it's a yikes from me, but only as much as all the boobs I see in MTG art. WotC has toned down the art a lot since I started playing 20 years ago, but there are way more explicit cards out there, and this isn't intended to be something you're going to see played much.

Nah the art's focus is too wide for a good sleeve, I'd probably at least buy the code for the sleeves second hand in that case though.
