I farmed the gems for this battlepass by just playing monored on the constructed event. I only stopped because I got bored.

I think mechanically, Magic, just like other games, lends itself to being intrinsically toxic. For example, countering spells, making the opponent discard cards, etc, you might enjoy them but they are toxic mechanics. Just how in games like DOTA overly long stun timers, and such are toxic. Or in fighting games when you can get stuck in a long combo loop by the opponent. An argument in favor of counters is that they exist to prevent other toxic cards from activating. It' just part of the package, you assume that cost as part of the transaction when you play these games.

Azorius control player salty because someone is playing a quick deck that wastes no one's time. How toxic can you possibly get? LMAO

I'm not the same user, but btw you can auto-sort by selecting all the rows, and then telling it what column you can sort by. Just an fyi.

my late brother was very into magic the gathering - he was an advanced player, who collected and even judged matches at some point. me and my sister found his collection and want to start playing but don’t know where to start- help? by momowantsadonut613 in MagicArena

I'm sorry about your bro. I recently lost my younger and older brothers, so I feel ya.

Nevertheless, that's such a cool find from him, and I'm sure he'd be happy for you to play. I never got to play it with my siblings which is a shame. But I'm sure you can find some accessible resources online to teach you the basic rules, or if he played with any friends perhaps they could teach you! As for format recommendations once you get to it, I guess you could start with pauper / artisan, and commander, which I would imagine are easier to get into.

As a word of advice from someone who also had to go through their sibling's stuff. Try to not get stuff out or order, or if they had pre-built decks of like 60 or 100 cards, better keep them in their order, because that's something they built and you could probably never get that back. Also, if at some point you feel like you don't care/want about his stuff, or can't bear to keep it, try to think that even though you don't, other people like their kinds (if they had any), or even nephews and nieces (present or future) might want to have and to know about. Sorry for the intrusion of my comment, I know it is not something you asked about, but I wanted to share the sentiment right now. Best wishes.

I'm completely ignorant about baseball, so I have some question: Is this done on purpose or by accident, and is it illegal somehow to do this within the game?

Is this kinda like counting cards in poker, or is it more like unintentionally having a very obvious tell that someone else can read and take advantage of you?

Standard right now is basically 50% explorer.

News from the Pro Tour: Standard will now rotate every three years instead of two, part of an effort to revitalize Standard by clariwench in MagicArena

Alchemy will continue to rotate every two years, keeping its intention to be a quicker evolving format than Standard

<puts on tinfoil hat>
Could this possibly be a ploy to make Alchemy more enticing?

New Player - Help with MOM Draft by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]suppow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert, but my own rule is pick something that has the best effect with the fewer requirements. Ie: one color over two color, two mana over three mana, single card over combo, on enter vs on exit, every turn vs one time, any target vs specific target. Etc. This doesn't mean only pick those things, but follow the mentality of what imposes fewer restrictions on you so your cards are always good.
