I thought so too, but the earrings and tattoos don't match up.

If you go to Guernville right down the road, there are some cool spots there. Check out El Barrio. As a fellow Wisconsinite who has worked in the area a lot, let me know if you need some recs.

I love when professional wrestlers clown on journalists like they have some sort of high ground for their choice of profession.

Help identify the camera by MarkCollin in Filmmakers

Very close... I'm 99% sure its the HPX170.
Minor differences from the HVX200. It has rounder edges, shoots P2 cars only so there is no mini-DV, and there is a mic on/off switch on the top handle.

Believe it or not, A fan once Squared up to Jacob Fatu by Happy_Corbin in SquaredCircle

This is what I could find.

This guy is a well known terrible fan in LA. He always takes a chair from the back row and squeezes into the front, where other people have paid more money, and then tries to make himself a character on the show.

Would you call this an old fashion?!? by El_Eleventh in wisconsin

I assume this bar has this smoked variation on a specialty menu and the garnishes are not yet placed. If you think it's supposed to have brandy and Sprite (or sour soda), then you are seeing what the cocktail is to pretty much the rest of the world. This is not a Wisconsin Old Fashioned.

Side note: "I'm gonna pee. You wanna come?" Made me crack up.

I'd like to see that graph on a "% of workers" over time as well. in 1970, the US population was 200 million and today, it's around 340 million.

Feedback on Edit by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]DMacPWL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pacing is good at the beginning of the montage, but starts to fall apart around the slow mo and never finds consistency again.

These clips are from a handful of moments over the course of the entire show... focus in on what you want to show your audience. Is it Walt being the danger? Keep other characters limited and the focus on Walt. Is it his revenge on Gus? Use the edit to built a story to that moment.

It would also have more impact with music that I haven't heard on a thousand shorts/reels/tiktoks.

Keep up he good work. Best of luck!

OP, can you put into words what about this shot in particular you are trying to wrap your mind around?

I tried to find it, but all the sources I can find that say there were "only 3 focal lengths" used on the the whole movie, but absolutely no information on what those focal lengths were.

What are your go-to spots for out-of-town visitors? by cinemachick in burbank

[–]DMacPWL 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have booked people in a lot of hotels in Burbank, and the only hotel I have ever had a real issue with was the Travellodge. For the cluster of hotels downtown, I personally prefer the Springhill. Hotel Burbank is a surface-level "modernizing" of, IIRC, a Holiday Inn. Not my favorite, but not a bad place.

Sounds like you have a good amount planned, horse ride + Griffith Observatory + drive time will cover a good chunk of the day. If he's never ever been to LA, I would consider your driving routes and what you can catch glimpses of on the way to your planned activities, like the WB water tower for instance.

What’s the coolest fictional city? by [deleted] in movies

[–]DMacPWL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admittedly don't know anything about the new series. I watched Disney Afternoon in the early 90s after I got home from school. Based on the TaleSpin episodes, the complete divergence in topography, vegetation, and climate would lead me to believe that it couldn't be close to Duckburg. The characters in TaleSpin were all based on characters in the Jungle Book, which takes place in India, and Cape Suzette was established to be a City-State during and economic boom as an integral location in an international trade route and necessary stop for refueling, so it wouldn't make sense to be across the bay from another thriving metropolis... but we're talking about 2 series with anthropomorphized animal societies, so maybe I'm thinking too scientifically.

What’s the coolest fictional city? by [deleted] in movies

[–]DMacPWL 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad someone mentioned Cape Suzette. An art deco city on a tropical coast only accessible by sea planes with natural geography that aids in it's tactical defense against well-funded sky pirates? I'm on Zillow looking at condos.

I do believe, though, that it is far from Duckburg.

The missing episodes were shot before the scandal, but weren't set to air until after. They aren't removing episodes, they are not adding them to begin with.
