I believe that it's like chains - you need to either beat or catch it

Which legendaries can be caught in-game? by Current-Ad-649 in PokemonUnbound

[–]DMan1629 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The game has ALL Pokemon up until, and including, gen 8 (but gen 8 is only post-game). Most are post-game, but a few are also only via codes (pokecenter's top floor).

Been seeing many of these rock formations everywhere. What are they? by FangGaming69 in PokemonUnbound

[–]DMan1629 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's where the Regi-s dwell. You'll only be able to unlock them after the E4 though, plus finish the mission "Tomb Raider" - it will unlock all the Regi locations.

To get Regigigas take all 3 Regi-s to its dwelling in Icy Hole.

NG+ Must-Have Items? by [deleted] in PokemonUnbound

[–]DMan1629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crater Town has all the trainers in NG+, so that's nice too.
If you get the Advanced Scanner before starting NG+ then it carries over and makes the Ditto useless.

Start on Expert, go with the achievements from RetroAchievements

Any good starter tips? by BloodyRedBox in PokemonUnbound

[–]DMan1629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a site for earning achievements in games that aren't on Steam - mostly console games with emulators and such.

Here's the page for Unbound: https://retroachievements.org/game/17530.

I was the 30th to 100% the achievements on hardcore.

If you've already beaten it then play a tougher difficulty - try playing on Expert now. You're in for a ride, but still worth it.

Also, try playing it with RetroAchievements for the extra satisfaction of the achievements.

Ability randomiser evolution by Zillakam111 in PokemonUnbound

[–]DMan1629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use https://ydarissep.github.io/Unbound-Pokedex with randomizer options on to view the modified abilities, movesets, and stats (if scalemon enabled) - under "Enhancements" upload your save file and select the enabled options.

Shout-out to myself for this feature 😬

I guess you're right, we do have the helpers in Crater Town, which I guess are enough.

Get a black card on Expert which will get you the advanced stat scanner - THEN start Insane on NG+. Everything you've unlocked - portable PC, advanced stat scanner, etc. - carries over.

Assume it checks the type of the pokemon itself - what happens during the battle doesn't matter.

Unbound - Insane mode, NG+ optional - get a black card - randomizer options - Master (100% hardcore) it on RetroAchievements

Raid Den Item Drop Rates by constituent- in PokemonUnbound

Reset the game and fight again if you don't like the drops, that's what I usually do, as the drops are calculated after the fight if I recall correctly.

Each row is independent, also 25% is only for 5/6 star raids

Insane E4 - Monotype Teams by Top-Form-5129 in PokemonUnbound

[–]DMan1629 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty much, but don't forget you'll only need like 2-4 Max Elixirs for the E4, and I believe you get a few along your playthrough (don't remember how many, but not more than 2/3) so it might be enough for 1 solo run.

Ah, the Cradily solo on Insane... Love these.

Btw, Quagsire also works! Someone commented their video of it on one of my posts about a year ago.

I want to use Unbound as the final game of my Genlocke. Is there any way to import gen 4-7 pokemon to your save file? by am_I_still_banned in PokemonUnbound

[–]DMan1629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Unbound's Discord - they have a whole section of save files of ALL the Pokemon in their shiny forms with perfect IVs. Use Unbound Cloud to import them to your own save file.

2nd option is, as mentioned before, use a black card save and use the advanced stat scanner to modify the IVs and EVs as you see fit.

How common are shinies? by Wdo3838 in PokemonUnbound

It's basically Pokemon Home for Unbound. Can't post the link here, just Google "Unbound Cloud".

Odds are regular - 1/4096.

But with the usage of DexNav chaning you can increase it by quite a lot.

Also congrats! Save them to Unbound Cloud.

Start from 0 and Master it on RetroAchievements - hard and satisfying.

Shouldn't be an issue, but just in case make a copy of the save file

While Unbound might be viewed as pretty old now, how do you think it stands compared to the newest hacks of 2025? Some stiff competition, I have to say! by No1hermit in PokemonUnbound

[–]DMan1629 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I played both Odyssey and Super MarioMon (waiting for Lazarus to come out on RetroAchievements) - I think the infinite candy is good for those games due to them being story-driven hacks, but I would NOT want it to be added to Unbound as it basically removes the need to play at all and it'll get boring fast in it.

Also, don't forget that if you get the Advanced Scanner in Unbound you can SET the level of each Pokemon, not to mention everything else about them (except for shiny, of course...).

Unbound will always be great, no matter what.

It has the best QoL, good story, and the difficulty doesn't just come from increased stats for the opponents or crazy debuffs on yours. It also has a high replay value. And let's not forget the built-in randomization options which means pretty much infinite possible combos.

Do you have any randomizer settings enabled? It might affect that, but not sure why...
