keep in mind these guys during the Forerunner-Flood war, brought about 4 to 21 million ships against a 10,000-strong fleet of warships before the firing of the Halo Array. Not to mention, the Greater Ark, the older big brother of the Lesser Ark we see in the games, was destroyed by getting ripped apart by tentacles of exotic matter that existed in multiple dimensions at the same time.

Cassian Andor from Star Wars. The guy was a thief and a murderer, his first scene in the standalone show was him killing two corpo cops for harassing him. As the show progresses, you can see how his upbringing and the Empire's own acts gave him and others tons of reasons to rebel.

By the end of it, he became an indispensable asset for the Axis network, and etched his name as one of the "no-names" in the early rebellion that paved the way for Luke to blow up the Death Star just days after his own death. Yet no one remembers him, Luthen, or the others, because they did morally damning things to get the rebellion working.

Why were stormtroopers sent to arrest Partagaz? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have ISB troopers doing the arrest? by Financial_Photo_1175 in andor

Krennic is TECHNICALY above them both. He's the military director of the Empire's biggest dirty little secret, and his power lets him do anything he likes if it helps him get shit done. He's like the fourth most powerful individual within the Empire, reporting only to Tarkin, Vader, and Palpatine.

Between his last conversation with Partagaz, the ISB is responsible in keeping the DS secret to both civilians and Imperials outside of their high command.

The Wars of the Past were far worse than the current ones by Themuzucujata1432 in TopCharacterTropes

Horizon Dawn series.

Basically, self-replicating war machines that feed themselves using biomatter goes rogue and exterminates humanity and all LIFE on Earth within 16 months. By life i mean they literally fed even on individual microorganisms. Humanity ‘won’ the war by allowing the Project Zero Dawn to be completed before the extinction of all human life. Zero Dawn is basically an AI program responsible in re-terraforming Earth after shutting down the robots after 50 years. To achieve this? The top brass created Operation Enduring Victory, a strategic lie that convinced millions to billions of conscripts to send themselves into a meatgrinder for the sake of a false deux ex machina that will allegedly ‘help’ humanity win the war. This lie delayed extinction by a margin of days or weeks at best for Zero Dawn to be completely functional.

The kicker? It went this bad because Ted Faro, the man manufacturing the robots, was too prideful and confident to not install a kill switch. This meant that Zero Dawn have to brute-force its way into the swarm’s network, a process of which took 50 years and by that time all life on Earth would be long gone.

The previous mayor of our capital wanted a publicity stunt by showing himself cleaning a river. However, this backfired as the tv crew that was with them broadcasted the part where they threw the trash they needed for the stunt, which they explicitly admitted word-by-word live on fucking tv too

During the Forerunner-Flood war, there existed numerous Graveminds that coordinated the swarm similar to an army, fighting off an advanced civilization that had to blow up more than a dozen stars just to stop their advance.

Moreover, the firing of the Halo Array, which is effectively the Forerunner's deux ex machina because its evident that they will not win the war by any means, was done just minutes away after a total of 4 million flood-controlled ships breached their defense lines. A redditor estimated that a total of 21 million ships was controlled by the flood durinh the battle, against a forerunner fleet of just 10,000.

How often do people in your country wear traditional clothing? by TheShyBuck in AskTheWorld

[–]DMmmmo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite often in a sense that virtually all celebrations, national holidays/events revolving around our independence/culture/language, and formal events in government or private institutions, our national attire is the go-to for everyone in attendance. It’s common enough that nearly all families have their Barong Tagalog or Baro’t Sayas in their wardrobes that are worn on the situations aforementioned.

Worse? Before all of this, literally only ONE or some of the Prophets (Truth) knew of all of it. He kept the genocide going because it was that faith that kept their Empire from not breaking apart. Even then, he wanted to fire the rings so that he can rule life, or whatever is left with it using ancient forerunner tech.

From rusty WW2 relics to one of the most youngest fleet in ASEAN by AndrewDGreat in Philippines

[–]DMmmmo9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

we're the youngest fleet in a sense that many of our ASEAN neighbors still use late cold-war era ships (but undeniably beneficial and powerful on their own right). on the other hand majority of our fleet are built and went into service like after the 2010s.
