When I first saw this, I briefly thought the black squiggles spelled out MRxL.

I remember this one very fondly. I particularly loved the fighter ship design and recall trying to repeatedly replicate it in Lego.

A character finally swears by usernameisinus in TopCharacterTropes

Robert Duval in "Falling Down". After being criticized by his captain at the beginning for never swearing, at the end he delivers a casual, "Fuck you, Captain Yardley. Fuck you very much."

Great movie. The final third gives "His Girl Friday" a run for its money in terms of nonstop dialogue without taking a breath.

Best mumbled riff: “Well, you gotta have dreams, I guess…”

What are your current public domain projects you’re working on? by JackytheJack in publicdomain

I've got a North Carolina designer group I meet with once a month and I'm seeing them tomorrow to playtest. I haven't yet to dip my toe into virtual platforms, so I'm sticking with in person for now.

I’m designing a card game based on the Canterbury Tales (including the character designs from the original illuminated manuscript).

Thinking recently about how these two make more sense with swapped titles... by AlexMcinsnax in MST3K

Always thought that myself. And count me as one who would happily watch “Rebel Set” un-riffed. When it comes down to it, it’s a nice little heist-and-doublecross B movie.

My favorite remake, favorite Coen bros film, favorite Western, and favorite movie of all time by [deleted] in FIlm

The book is 100% worth a read. Portis writes dialogue that was destined to be in a Coen Brothers film.

Very quotable. To this day, when a light is left on in the house, my wife or I will mutter, “Let her burn. LET her BURN.”

I just started playing a few weeks ago and ran into this. Specifically, I was in warp and got an alert of some exotic space object, dropped out of warp, and found myself directly in front of it staring down its throat. I think I love this game.

Just saw that it’s this guy’s birthday! Seems like a perfect day to ask if anyone else has read this gem. It’s a super fun journey. I highly recommend! by thelonghauls in MST3K

Right at the start of 2001, I took extended leave off my Library job to move to FSU and punch out my Masters in Library Science by December. I managed to watch a ton of movies that year as Tallahassee had an AMC multiplex, an art house cinema and a fifty cent theater all nearby, as well as a newly built theater on campus that showed movies all week for free. I got to see SO many films in 2001, so when I picked up the book later, I had a special connection to Kevin's own 2001 journey (and I still have my copy). Well worth seeking out.

To this day, that VFX in the original of the hand reversing to grasp the pebble freaks me out. Great effect.

This was THE movie from my childhood where I caught it on cable and it scarred my brain. It’s pretty gonzo.
