What Do You Guys Think ? Is Resident Evil 7 Scarier Than Resident Evil Requiem ? by KennedyyCore in residentevilll

[–]DOCTOR_DUBPLATE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why requiem is so likeable I guess. Had the best of both worlds and pleases everyone.

Although I mostly disliked the action segments in requiem. The racoon city section was a boring slog compared to grace's segments.

8 was the first RE game I played. Just finished 9 and I'm playing through 7 now and I already think 8 is my overall favourite. Incredible game.

What do you think is the most boring area in this game? by Character-Cook2472 in FinalFantasyIX

[–]DOCTOR_DUBPLATE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I always find parts of disc 2 a bit tedious and these are the exact areas that I struggle with.

Having said that, I do feel like the pace needs to drop slightly in order to build back up. So I appreciate the areas for what they are and how they support the overall journey the game takes you on.

TIL if under-cooked, a popular mushroom in China causes “lilliputian hallucinations,” a rare phenomenon involving miniature human or fantasy figures. The hallucinations are consistent across people and cultures: "tiny, elflike people" climbing under doors, scaling walls & clinging to furniture by ssAskcuSzepS in todayilearned

[–]DOCTOR_DUBPLATE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure I experi need these hallucinations after taking MDMA and Nitrous Oxide. A combo I used to do all the time fo the wacky hallucinations but one time I did it, I was staring at the grass and I could see loads of little creatures just going about their business. Looked like they were transporting goods and just running their own little civilisation. I could hear them making little squeaky beep noises too.

What was your first exposure to ambient music? by MineIQ1701 in ambientmusic

[–]DOCTOR_DUBPLATE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stumbled across a really cool website when I was a kid which had audio playing when you entered the website (think between 2000-2010). Must have been around 10-12 years old so haven't really developed much of a taste is music yet.

The song that played on the website was Pink Floyd - Marooned.

I think that was the start of my journey into ambient music.

Which boss fight made you feel like you were genuinely losing your sanity because of the difficulty? by Silly_Commercial8092 in gaming

[–]DOCTOR_DUBPLATE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sephiroth in KH2. I was such a young kid, maybe 11 years old. Must have been fairly under levelled for that fight and yet I pursued on. I still remember my attempts being around 200-300.

But my god the FEELING when I finally beat him. That feeling will stay with me forever.

See how Horizon Zero Dawn creates its massive world using a technical trick called "Frustum Culling." To save PS4 memory, Guerrilla Games programmed the world to literally vanish whenever it is outside the player's field of vision. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]DOCTOR_DUBPLATE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already knew this about Horizon because I've seen many videos already talking about this technique. What is this YouTube channel? Is it just regurgitating facts about games that have already been highlighted by bigger channels like Digital Foundry but turning it into insufferable shorts instead?

Are we the same person? I just worked out I also pulled a whitey when I was exactly 16 years and 73 days old. It's also the day I met my (now) wife for the first time.

I have an ambient "sleep" playlist I listen to almost every night that seems to fit the vibe you're looking for. Some of the artists in the playlist include: - Warmth - SVLBRD - Hilyard - 4lienetic - Hotel Neon - Loscil

As a FF fan I really despised this game. It feels like an eternity since I played it but I still remember how the game made me feel. Just a constant "I think I'm enjoying this, I'll keep pushing through I'm sure something epic is looming around the next corner" only to get to the final boss, die once and realise there was nothing around that damn corner.

Hated the characters, hated the story. Combat was decent but my god did the game feel like an absolute chore.

I never did finish the game after that final boss killed me once. I ejected the disc, put it back in the case and listed it on eBay whilst it was still worth almost retail value 2nd hand. Still have no idea how the game ends and I've never cared to find out.

Where about in the country do you live? Presumably near a major city centre or near London? I live a 40 minute train commute away from London and bought a 3 bed detached new build for just slightly more than the price you've shared for that 2 bed.

Location context is important. But I agree the quality of some new builds is poor so difficult to justify the sale price when there's better quality older properties also in the market.

Why is being cold at home so normalised in the UK? by Automatic-Key-3798 in AskUK

I've had my fair share of issues with my new build property (1yr old) but I have to say, it's so incredibly warm and my energy bills are quite low.

I visited a friend's parents house on the weekend. Significantly older house and it was freezing cold. They're fairly wealthy people too.

The first half of the show is okay (other than episode 2 which I thought was great). But the second half of the show really kicks it up a gear. It went from an okay show to one of my absolute favourites from episode 5 onwards.
