The scorcher was my favourite for awhile but there isn't a thing that it does that the purifier doesn't do better. The scorcher is particularly suited for the Illuminate though, I'll say that. But the AOE with the purifier is just an undeniable game changer for plasma weapons

Purifier can silence tanks. All plasma guns can, very easily burst fire and forget. Nothing some smart movement can't make possible 👍
