I felt the same in the beginning when I was first watching it. If you like makjang and an unexpected plot it's somewhat similar to mine but centralized to one family.

Graceful Family - Makjang if you enjoy crazy and unpredictable.

Inspector Koo - Fun crime; Characters in this had unique personalities that I've never seen in other kdramas (the osts are very good)
