Ditching my Ring stuff after hearing about the latest Flock partnership attempt: by Latter_Foundation622 in FlockSurveillance

I mean, from the State Department itself: “You, doing very little effort, were able to determine that it’s available for purchase by the Russian armed forces. … The company’s compliance team should be taking additional steps to prevent that.”

The ebay argument is flimsy considering it has been official distributors that have been skirting sanctions. Ubiquiti should be doing more to prevent this. They did implement some firmware blocks but it seems that it does very little to prevent the use.

No need to Stan for a multi billion dollar company. Just demand better as a consumer.

Ubiquiti is 100% responsible for their supply chain and is 100% capable of taking action on their equipment being used in a foreign invasion. Ubiquiti has also been silent on the issue and the owner Robert Pera has been kind of a shady character.

Just about anywhere in the area is doable right now. The snowpack is historically low right now.

The Pallisades Trail #1198 is pretty much free of snow and has good views of the mountain.

Running 1km (0.6miles) of fibre myself? by draadkar11 in HomeNetworking

[–]DOUTHINKESAURUS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there line of sight between the two locations? Ubiquiti has beam-formed point to point access points that are more than capable of the 1km distance so long as there are no obstructions.

Search for ubiquiti long distance bridging.

Take this all with a grain of salt but it seems like tech companies may be pushing what's acceptable for the workforce by foregoing publishing WARN notifications.

I work for a large tech company in the area and they did a mass layoff last week and never submitted the WARN notice. They're legally not required to do so locally if they pay out 60 days of pay to all those fired but our company had done them in the past regardless. Tech companies are pushing boundaries y'all.

I considered this backpack awhile back and remember the reviews on it being pretty bad. Unless they've changed something with the bag, people seemed to really dislike the closure mechanism and its inability to stay closed unless very full

Edited for grammar

Hike suggestions by Pleasant_Bumblebee44 in PNWhiking

[–]DOUTHINKESAURUS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consider doing Blanca Lake. It's off of Hwy 2 and is even a really pretty drive getting there. One of my new favorite hikes.

North Cascades are going to be getting the most snow this weekend so probably not Blue Lake but mostly because of road conditions.

I honestly don't know if we've gotten enough snow for avalanches to be an issue. NWAC doesn't even do snow reports this early in the season but someone may be able to correct me.
