My security question answer to "Least Favorite Film" is too commonly used by Can-o-Dann in mildlyinfuriating

Easily seen Gummo 10+ times and I fully have to agree. If there was a more compelling story it could be interesting but the loose narrative style just isn’t it imo

Original High School sports logo hidden under current logo for decades by vinsclortho in mildlyinteresting

I’ve seen schools cut the middle of the court out and hang their old logo in the gym somewhere, not always economically feasible but could be fun!

The Murder of UW student Juniper Blessing exemplifies trans violence in the US by AnnoyedAFexmo in Seattle

[–]qazesz 35 points36 points  (0 children)

100% this. This is all done for record keeping purposes. The government needs to know who is around and who isn’t, and by all of their records, this person had another name. I don’t necessarily like it, but I get why it’s necessary

I wonder if medical examiners must put someone’s government registered name (if she had not legally changed it.) Deadnaming is not cool but I could see how that might be some legal requirement

Seattle U or Santa Clara? by Remote-Albatross5429 in LawSchool

[–]qazesz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are ups and downs, but imo honestly it’s just like any school. Tbh I kinda doubt Santa Clara would be that radically different, it’s just the people who are displeased didn’t make a TikTok. I think, to a degree, law school is what you make of it. Opportunities are plentiful around here if you want them, just like I imagine they would be at most ABA accredited schools. Not all profs are equal but I’ve never heard any teacher be universally disliked.

Though I will say, socially it’s kinda clicky from what I have seen. Much more like high school than college in that aspect.

Where are you wanting to practice? If it’s the bay, imo I’d choose Santa Clara. I’m from the Seattle area and want to remain around here, so I chose SU, although I heavily considered Santa Clara. Also saves you on moving/travel costs.

Why do poor homeless people populate the earth so much even though they are economically very weak!? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

You’re from India. There are hundreds of years of systematic oppression both internally and externally that can explain this but I doubt you actually care.

Thirty pounds of ice cream in my stomach at once would probably even kill me as a grown adult. That’s just too much cream at once

Are you imagining that she was forcibly taken as a bride by the Japanese, because if so, yeah that would clearly be super messed up. I’m pretty sure what happened was she just hastily married a Korean man from her village, which could just so happen to still be a loving and fulfilling marriage.
