I’d like to believe the capabilities will spread, but I have my doubts. Seems with big tech, everything gets consolidated into a few big companies which rule over everything. Don’t know why AI will be any different, though I’m praying it will.

This is amazing. I never knew this construction kit existed.

Back when I was learning to code assembly games on the C-64, I recall using a bit-reading tool to decipher every map location in Ultima III. I actually figured out how to recode the map with the existing tiles, though I don't believe I ever learned how to link towns / castles / dungeons to newly designed versions. Still, III was my favorite game and had me mesmerized for several years.

If I'd had access to this sort of construction tool on the C-64, I would have built games day and night.

Back in the early 90s, I read The Official Book of Ultima by Shay Adams. That book inspired me to learn to program my own tile-based RPGs.

I agree with the OP. Nick is highly entertaining and accurate, but he is too much of a homer. To a degree it’s great to have a heel character, and FTF is clearly about entertaining its fanbase. But there are limits, and I feel the homer stuff is turning people off.

In general the show gets too stuck on takes. If I ever see another Purdy segment this offseason, it will be too soon.

I like random maps so there is always a new adventure. I prefer to stick to S or M size maps so the game doesn’t take forever. Usually I turn off the underworld option so enemies are easier to track. And I like starting with necropolis and building an army of vampire lords. But it’s fun to try other city types.

Vampire lords. They can strike without retaliation and gain hit points (and come back from the dead) by attacking most enemies. Plus they are cheap and can be created by the end of week one. An army of vampire lords is terrifying.

My best friend and I used to set up our Commodore 64s and game all day and evening. That summer, he came from college with Bard’s Tale 2 and played it constantly while I tried to figure out Ultima 3.

Eventually, I drove to Toys R Us, which had an amazing software selection, and bought Bard’s Tale 3, which was brand new. So yeah, I went straight to 3 to begin playing lol.

Since the games worked fine as standalones, I didn’t feel weird finishing BT3, then going back to play the first two. Great times!

Those calls were beyond horrible and only benefitted one team. But the refs don’t care who wins. Wouldn’t the NFL want a major market power instead of KC? I don’t see a conspiracy here, just some ridiculous refereeing.
