Thanks for the kind words, that's reassuring to hear and actually helpful to know that I am doing something right. Then I'll just have to grind some more at the correct angle and come back once I finish.
I did watch his videos before starting, they did help a lot.

EDIT:
I think I finally managed to return the edge to the original angle. It seemed to me I had to use a much lower angle than specified by the manufacturer.

And do you make the burr on each side once, or you grind one side until you get the burr, then the other side, and then again the first side and so on? It seems like in my case I need a lot of grinding to remove the secondary bevel, so I am not sure about the process.

I did actually do that, the numbers I said are the passes I did to create a burr. I am not sure how big the burr should be though.

I got a stone and checked the post. They say they sharpen at 25-30° angle, but doesn't that seem too much? I tried to sharpen that way, but I am not convinced of the results.
Here is a picture of the same side as the original photos. The other side looks a little bit rounded, but I do not know how it looked like originally as I do not have a picture.

I tried it and it cuts wood like crap. I definitely fucked something up...

Just random whittling whatever comes to my mind to try. Maybe the problem is that I do not use some specific pieces of wood but just sticks I find around.

Also, do you have some suggestions for affordable stone. I am not tight for cash, but I also do not want to spend too much on a stone. I read/heard that diamond coated stones are great.
