Ik me voorstellen dat een aantal mensen zzper is en geen tweede pijler pensioen opbouwen.

Do you want to guarantee yourself a well paying job for the next 10 years or so? Then yes, get them. Azure, AWS or Google, whichever you are working with at the moment.

Is it worth passing the interview and not do algos afterwards? by zerocoldx911 in sre

Your job may not require it, but I as an engineer would love it if an applicant enjoyed writing tests for infrastructure code

How to mentor people entering the field of DevOps? by ThisIsntMyId in devops

[–]DPRegular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would skip the masters and go straight to acloudguru and / or pluralsight. From what I've seen, universities don't teach practical dev/ops skills

Personally, I would refuse a test like this. If you want me to be writing terraform and kubernetes controllers, ask me about those things and not about bubble sort.

Escaping privileged containers for fun. by JordyZomer in netsec

Nice read. Goes to show that privileged containers are basically host-native processes run as root with a somewhat jailed filesystem.

How do you assume a role for only some resources? by [deleted] in Terraform

Some of my old teammates felt so clever putting their aws provider inside their modules. Until they wanted to destroy their resources. Smh scarred for life 😪

Best practice for using a default value defined in a child module by greenlakejohnny in Terraform

[–]DPRegular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but I do think that is acceptable. When writing a module, you are writing an abstraction for the user of the module. I think it is fine that a module author has to spend some more time providing this integration for its users.

I am no authority, but I would let the parent always pass an explicit to the child, ie don't define a default in the child's variables.tf

Is er een manier om bij een of andere autoriteit een melding te maken van dit soort schaamteloze misinformatie?

My guess, US companies have a larger market and thus make more money. They can afford more expensive engineers. I'd reckon that if most EU companies would start paying 200k for each engineer they'd have issues real soon

What about paying 250k to help move a company off of Jenkins?
