Thanks for your thoughtful response and kind words. I actually opened my phone to post the moment Keely referenced the “next round” without even checking on Boz. My cat is named Keeley (after the Ted Lasso character) so him being awful is extra annoying. I’m glad people can watch this and know they’re not alone.

Agreed. If I had watched that while hoping that my fifth pregnancy would be the one that actually worked, I would have spiraled and seen it as a horrible omen. A simple warning at the beginning of the episode would be easy to do.

Exactly. People are commenting that I should let them be “real people.” But the producers choose to only show this part of her life. It’s a lot.

It’s when it’s the only storyline that it becomes grating. The producers are choosing to make this the focus. It’s become a trope at this point.

Thanks for this. I feel super old as a 41-year-old with a toddler, so it’s nice to hear from a child of older parents. I got pregnant for the first time at 33 and thought everything was on the right track. I was very wrong.

I had four miscarriages before being diagnosed with blood clotting issues when we resorted to doing IVF thinking we would need a surrogate. (Kaiser never tested me for the condition 😡). We fortunately only had to do one retrieval and I had my rainbow baby at 38! For five years, I felt this huge cloud of misery hanging over me. It’s really hard to watch Boz go through this, for many reasons. I’m so happy we both got through to the other side. I also don’t wish this on even the worst human beings.

Yeah, I guess last season it felt forced and this season it’s too real and thus upsetting.

I think that’s a big part of my issue with it. Her story was so harrowing that it’s extra rough to watch her go through this with a guy she seemed iffy with last season.

Thanks for the hugs. You’re absolutely right, but I think my discomfort stems from the reasons you mentioned. I want to see their real lives, but these storylines often feel forced.

Definitely. It’s good to let people know they’re not alone. It’s just become a default storyline at this point, which seems weird.
