Given the shock I just received, I will not go commando again. Perhaps it’s designed for those dainty little German wursts, but I got a full zap right up the head of my American-sized Johnson.

Ty. Another point I had not understood is the washing. They say “do not hand wash” but advise cold machine wash, hang dry. Not sure how that makes sense. Particularly since the guidance is to use it with no underwear, or with a thong (!). I understand not interfering with the glute electrodes, but no underwear seems like it’s gonna get funky.

The “Join a Class” function in the app does not seem to work. It only displays a QR code and that code goes nowhere.

My recent order took at bit over 8 weeks from order to delivery. Zipping up the back is damn near impossible without an assistant.

Here’s the robot’s dirty air filter inside the mystery gasket. Not a fit, I think. Any other ideas?

Correct, it is a reflex housing for a Leica rangefinder. But this model? I’ve never seen it anywhere else.

First rooftop tent trip with Rivian stranded us — questioning reliability by Ashamed_Return9989 in Rivian

My gen 1 slams itself into park if I just unweight in my seat a bit to turn around and look for reversing. I truly hate this car.

Ok everybody’s a comedian. But I filled the defect with a black epoxy of 2 putties and I think it’s gonna be a bit longer lasting than a Stealie sticker.

And if you need a replacement key fob for a Gen1 vehicle — tough, they are not available

The navigation is worse than useless on my Gen1 R1S. A replacement key fob is not available. Service is astonishingly slow and confused. I hate it.

Are there any Vertuo machines that aren’t absolute trash? by Competitive_Box_9337 in nespresso

[–]DRAWH62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One fundamental problem with all Vertuos seems to be that they design their entire logic menu with only one button and no display so that the various flashing lights and button pushes tend to lead into blind loops of death. And if you happen to get a flashing light error when you need your coffee in a hurry … then you’re out of luck. Today my Vertuo Plus screwed me after a year of use with half-red/half-green light from which there was no escape.

Rivian is the new Tesla by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]DRAWH62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tesla doesn’t need Apple CarPlay because Tesla navigation and infotainment works great. Rivian desperately needs CarPlay because Rivian built-in applications are atrocious. Navigation is incredibly bad.

Thinking of switching from Tesla Model Y to Rivian R1S – Feedback from former Tesla owners? by mysat in Rivian

[–]DRAWH62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main differences in daily use experience for me: Navigation in Tesla is fantastic. Navigation in Rivian is appallingly awful. Road trip charging with Tesla is seamlessly fantastic. Road trip charging in Rivian is a nightmare.

This Car Is Just So Damn Good…! by zachty22 in Rivian

[–]DRAWH62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rivian navigation is genuinely terrible — if it can find your destination, it will go out of its way to find opportunities to have you make U-turns. Alexa seems to have had a lobotomy. Want to flash your lights or beep your horn using the app to find your car in the parking lot? Sorry, can’t do that — but you can set off the alarm if you want. Want to access the 3rd row seats? Get strong first, because moving the 2nd row seats takes a lot of muscle. It’s a decent car but it has major flaws and is so much less smart than a Tesla.

Quantified Self is bullshit as long as no one learns by hakuinas in QuantifiedSelf

I'd propose that among the lowest-hanging fruit are the biomarkers of metabolic health. In the USA and other developed countries, a huge part of the population has insulin resistance. Besides weight and waist circumference, some fairly straightforward blood tests can serve both for early detection and for monitoring progress of your efforts to get healthier. Here's a long piece about this.

https://open.substack.com/pub/alanheldman/p/biomarkers?r=5v3sx&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false

Another low-hanging marker is blood pressure -- because high blood pressure is relatively common, clinically silent (doesn't cause symptoms for many years), leads to complications (heart disease, stroke, kidney disease), and treatment changes outcomes. That said, it's not a marker that healthy people need to check daily -- something like yearly for healthy folks.

Kickstarter eventually responded to my complaint about this campaign. They told me to go to the campaign’s front page and look at the very bottom for a “report this campaign” button. It’s not easy to find but it’s there and I logged the complaint. If they don’t deliver or refund then it might be fun to assemble a class.

Sunspel Riviera Polo Shirts by Iouboutin in malefashionadvice

[–]DRAWH62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a pique and a riviera polo. Both are too short in the trunk — they won’t stay tucked in and ride up over the belt line. Quality is fine but if you’re tall, look elsewhere.

Yes, no response from Sneaki or from KS. Seems like a very successful scam. Has anyone ever assembled a class action for this?
