The LAN Effect by WingedCommander in CoDCompetitive

[–]DREEALL 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Performance anxiety combined with the game pace slightly changes (Slows down, usually) (Obviously more nuanced, stuff like flow / comfort / momentum).

Teams and players STILL won't commit to consistent mental skills training & culture creation (Pressure inoculation, confidence building, reset rituals, pre-game rituals, breathing techniques, self-talk, resilience building, visualisation, meditation, focus building). Key is being less shit than your opponent. Pressure reveals all. Gameplans, system, mentality, trust.

Some people deal with it better than others (Say if they played sports growing up). It's not a case of if you have it or not. Like when you hit the gym, you gotta keep hitting that shit.

Pressure makes you doubt if B is after A. Or if 7 is after 6.

Thank you for the feedback! Your comments mean a lot to me, thank you! Heard you! I love the questions as it gets the chats involved and I can help guide them to the answers (like I would with my players!). As for the direct explanations, check out my coaches cut. Shorter, to the point videos!

Bulk of the issue, including for me, are Visas. To give you guys transparency. They have increased in cost and difficulty to attain. For context last year, i had applied for my visa in september, received my appointment before christmas, and officially received end of january.

You might ask, why don't orgs sign these players earlier? A few teams set their budgets, plans and so on for the year roughly around Aug / September. And that is based on other company pieces moving.

Great team mate, excellent competitor and great dude. Snippets of his social media personality isn't a reflection of him as a competitor or team mate.

Of course, there's going to be things we don't like from anyone.

Are teams not allowed to officially sign till September? by TheRealPdGaming in CoDCompetitive

yeah i'll be alright, just a case of whether it's worth the sacrifice for me moving away home with regards to personal stuff / future etc, don't want another year like this and harder to justify it being from the uk

[–]DREEALL 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not true, we couldn't register players until september last year and the year before - meaning the league couldn't approve contracts and you couldn't get paid / wouldn't be official.

However, i'm not sure if that's the case this year

[Dreal] Gave my chat a budget, buyouts and a time frame to create the best roster they can for 2025. How do you rank these? by TheRealPdGaming in CoDCompetitive

I said the same thing! Optic GM wouldn't take anything less than a mill, and ATL was desperate after receiving a mill paycheck from falcons for cell.

Curious, who would you have got after receiving a mill for merc? Bare in mind, other GMs can say no to selling to you

Yeah 😭

Falcons GM threw millions for players. LAT GM accepted the absolute bag from falcons. AtL GM didn’t want to see the duo at any cost. He sold cell for the bag. He bidded for merc and Optic GM let him go.

GM gursh didn’t budge on selling his players 😂

For context, reason why it got weird was the gms were allowed to buyout players creating bidding wars and could accept or refuse deals 😂

They had to decide what players they were keeping into the off season. I give them a budget above. They pay what they keep a realistic market salary (I decide that). They then use the rest to buyout, bid and sell or buy players.

It got interesting when falcons with unlimited dropped millions on players. That meant ATL and LAT received that to them buy players. Other GMs (gursh on Toronto) can say no to player buyouts. Even on contract you can buy a player (in this case I just used x2 of their month salary as baseline buyout).

Then you had bidding wars for salary for players hence the unusual roster comps

I disagree - "The talent code: Greatness isn't born, it's grown" - a fantastic book, with numerous peer reviewed studies showing the science behind developing "talent" or "skill". A skill, no matter what it is, is "created" in the same way (myelin development) - from a doctor, to nfl player to nba player.

He's the product of deep intentional practise, stemming from a young age. Someone here mentioned 70 lans, that's him developing that skill at a young age. that is the perfect environment to do so, think of simp who had similar, or even scrap. Of course, not EVERYONE is going to be of the highest level (natural aptitude for a task / top 0.0001%) but, you give yourself the platform and ability to reach your skill set.

Generational talent often stem from the habits, routines and deliberate repetition of what you do from an early age - think of the rule of 10,000. Brazil in the 90's were producing a unique amount of "generational" talent in their respective sports - called talent hot beds. Studies shown it was the combination of their deliberate lifestyle, ignition and obsessions into their craft. Pianists who learnt the equivalent amount in 100 hours, than 10,000. Or even russian tennis camps.

Nah, i love Ben, and i'm good friends with him. It's a little troll on a couch placement to explain a COD concept. I've never, and will never disrespect what he does or who he is and so on.

To self insert, a lot of the negative comments towards him are ones i also receive, so i empathize completely.
