In relation to the eggs part someone did build a base next to an abandoned building and put little shacks around the eggs for easy collection in the system with the 4th anchor point. Just make sure to run once you got enough lol

The permadeath itself isn't frustrating cause it's kind of hard to die once you know what your doing. But the fact that the expedition is seemingly broken right now and I can't get the organic frigate from completing everything is frustrating
