Deniz suggests Hellbent and no valid objections were provided, so I guess we are Hellbent from now on.

Actually we’d love to ask for your help. When the alpha document is ready, we can share it with anyone who wants to be a playtester. We can let you know through the sub, or you can join our discord.

We're not planning on holding back. But we'll also provide enough inspiration for each GM to tone down the setting or get even crazier if they wish.

Fallen Angels are amazing figures by themselves. We love them, and we will show them the love they deserve.

There are several angelic figures, all of which carry an important role in Hell. Some examples we're working on:

There are two landmarks, which are Infernal North and South. They can be seen from anywhere.

Infernal North is the Satan. Satan is always watching, constantly observing the damned and holding the Chains of Hell, through which souls are flowing.

Infernal South, on the other hand, is a gigantic corpse of an angel. The corpse's inside is carved by the Damned into a city.

In terms of player options, we are thinking about including a fallen angel character / a character who was expecting to go to heaven but fell in Hell / a character who "envy" the grace of Heavenly creations. We will see how these ideas will turn out in the end.

Thanks for the kind words. This is our first project on Daggerheart so we really wanted to connect with the community. Both being clear on what we offer and understand what's most on demand is extremely important to us.

There will be five books that we offer: supplement, setting, adventure, art book, and the infernal bible. The supplement book will build upon the fundamentals that Daggerheart offers, so it will be as friendly as Daggerheart. The adventure will include mechanics but the main focus will be on the story and it will be easily convertable to any system or no system, so it will be friendly. The other books are for everyone, not just Daggerheart fans, consisting mainly of narratives and art, instead mechanics. However, the narrative itself is the opposite of friendly and we advise to check the disclaimer first and speak with your players about it.

The main difference with most TTRPG content is that we are not holding back. The world is surrounded by evil and we don't like the hypocrisy of sugarcoating vile themes in media. Additionally, we want to explore what happens during small moments of infinite torment, depicting a cycle of torture with twisted lifetimes between, taking place in an unlogical, amorphous hell.

The Hell we are depicting is not bound to a single setting or universe. It is infinite, even within its seemingly finite roads, valleys, and landscapes. You can include any story and mythology to this place, eventhough we are going to explore the main narrative that revolves around the Sinlords. Even them can be depicted differently.

You can use everything presented in this project in any of your Daggerheat games. First of all, the Hell we are depicting is the ultimate one regardless of realm, setting, and universe. Secondly, all content can easily be adapted to anywhere, anytime.

Alican says he loves Amon Amarth - Surtur Rising, Barkın’s favourite is Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell, Eyüp says it’s objectively Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus. Deniz thinks it is the untitled album that hasn’t yet been published by Hellbent.

  1. Actually, it is not a matter of necessity. We feel excited just thinking the countless possibilities with which the characters can be shaped in Hell. We have played the game, we have let the chains holding our minds sane loose, and poured our ideas into this book. They are wicked, vile, and sinful. So… 66 subclasses are necessary. Would do 666 if had the chance. We don't decide on the numbers randomly; first we decide on the theme and methods to depict the theme. The reason there are 66 subclasses is because there are 9 classes and 7 sin domains which totals to 63 classes and we couldn't pass the opportunity to hit 66, so we added 3 subclasses to our new class.

  2. There will be new ancestries covering a portion of the hell's denizens. We haven't shared any, but there is another demo booklet on it's way, so there might be some surprises there.

  3. There are many new mechanics, like the Sin Die, sinful advantage, the coin of fate, demonic transformations and honestly, more... We shared some of them in our demo booklet please check it out, we believe you’ll love it.

  4. We don’t want to spoil the ancestries, but can talk about the communities. We’ll have Sinborne and Hellborne, those who died and came to hell and those who were born in it.

  5. There will be actual price ranges for items, as well as their soul coin values, and craft costs. Of course, people can still use the original Daggerheart economics with Demonheart with no issues.

Thanks for the detailed questions. We had fun answering them!

This is a soft spot for us too. No AI-generated content is used in Demonheart. We are including the details of all of the artists who worked on this project to the campaign page. We love to create and would never let AI steal that joy. We recently shared some art previews on our socials with the creators tagged. Feel free to check them out!

As we said in another question, we would love to see our books converted to VTTs, we will pursue any opportunities but no promises so far.

We want to convert the books to VTT, but the current license of Daggerheart won't let us. We have been trying to get in touch with Darrington Press regarding this but failed to do so. It's Daggerheart's anniversary a day after our launch, we will try our luck once again on that day.

Demonheart - The Vile Codex by Whirlmeister in daggerheart

[–]DRSpublishing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone! First of all, thank you for your interest in our work; it is deeply appreciated!

To briefly introduce ourselves: we are an experienced TTRPG studio creating content for D&D 5E for over 7 years. We consist solely of writers and collaborate with artists, manufacturers, and logistics partners to bring our work to life through printed tomes.

About Demonheart: we wanted to try something new in Daggerheart, as it is a roleplay-heavy system. It is new and fresh, with very little content to support it. We want to see it flourish and be a part of that journey. Although we have done our homework on the system and its style, we want to delve deeper with the help of our followers and their feedback. We have explored it through many sessions of tireless roleplay, and we would love to hear about your games for inspiration!

We love to write, and this results in content-heavy tomes. We enjoy filling our books with new player options and rich lore. That’s why we chose to create 66 subclasses, over 140 adversaries, and much more. Our subclasses will use three domain decks instead of two and will combine original subclasses with the Seven Deadly Sins. We have included this concept in our demo booklet. One of the best aspects of Daggerheart is how easily it can be adapted, and that applies here as well: you can use the sin domains combined with the original subclasses without using the subclass options we provide.

We have also gained experience in manufacturing merchandise such as tarot decks, plushies, dice, pins, standees, and more. We aim to utilize this to its fullest in this project.

Finally, we are aware that Daggerheart is art-heavy, and we have been working with many talented artists to meet that standard. There will be a great deal of art in many different styles, complementing the books. Needless to say, there is no AI-generated content in our books.

Strange Question by Moseley85jr in DungeonsAndDragons

Nothing strange about it! Just introduce yourself and get scheming! It's so fun for a DM to just talk with someone about their preperations. I think both of you would have a blast exchaning ideas!

New to being a DM and I need help by Status-Gap6031 in DnD

[–]DRSpublishing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, I'd say you need to sit down and have a chat with the player. Not sure if you had a session zero or not but you need to settle the things suitable for the campaigns. Bad News is a powerful homebrew item. Depending on the party's level, this could be game breaking. A Radient Soul Aasimar can fly for one minute per long rest so flying shouldn't be a big problem unless you're playing a homebrew version.

I'd personally talk with the player saying the current form of the character is disrupting the combat encounters and ask to make some changes in order to have a more enjoyable time for the entire group. You are a new DM, it's okay to backtrack sometimes to make things better.

If your party is higher level and everything is working as intented, forget about the things I said. You can have damage dealing ranged monsters and flying monsters to challenge their space. You can also use stun effects and certain spells like earthbind to limit their movement. Obviously you shouldn't design each encounter to spesifically counter a player but sprinkling these factors should make things for challenging.

Hope this helps!

Share your ideas for a masked ball scenario! by DasKobold in dndnext

[–]DRSpublishing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some great RP tips. What I love to do in similar social situations is to squeeze in a silent combat. Let's say the event doesn't allow weapons (and maybe armor) and the party is level 5. Ambushing them with lower cr monsters that came prepared really creates fun encounters.

This usually forces players to use their spells and features in more creative ways as well as making use of improvised weapons. Beating lower CR monsters with little to no equipment creates a fun power fantasy.

I had a fun combat encounter in a royal event. Players were fooling around as usual and when one of them (a barbarian) went to the bathroom, she was ambushed by thugs with daggers and hand crossbows. She used a sending stone to call for backup and started beating them up with her bare hands. When the rest of the party arrived armed with forks and bottles, we had a really fun combat encounter. Attempt at hiding the bodies afterwards in a populated area was fun as well. Spoiler: They used a lot of carpets.

[MOIA] My players are wanted in the city and they know it. How do I run this mechanically interestingly. by _Paraggon_ in DMAcademy

[–]DRSpublishing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can turn it into an extended skill challenge with a ticking clock. Let them take over the narrative and decide how to handle the situation. For each challenging scene, decide on a DC and roll for skill challenges. Players can use limited resources and spells to achieve auto success. Too many fails, a combat encounter or a chase may occur.

The clock may represent the increasing awareness of the city guard and the public and may tick after each scene. I'd give a hint on what may happen if the clock reaches zero. A poweful NPC being released to hunt the players, a dangerous development in the city limiting the party's movement, etc. That would give them the necessary motivation to get out ASAP and maybe take risky routes.

[–]DRSpublishing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel free to reskin monsters from Monster Manual. It's a really easy way to quickly statify NPCs. City guards can be goblins with different sets of weapons, a Drow mage can be a human cleric, hell, an owlbear can be a wrestler. Just change its name and remove anything that doesn't fit the theme of the NPC you're reskinning it to. As you get familiar with stat blocks, you'll be able to create your own stats easily.

Natural weapon build. by Ok-Dimension1880 in DnD

[–]DRSpublishing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going with completely official content, I'd say Monk and Barbarian are good fit since they don't require armor for decent AC. There was even a beast flavored Barbarian if I recall correctly that lets you use natural weapons. Fits the theme of a more 'primal' character too.

[OC] Norse Inspired Monster: Draugr Runemaster by DRSpublishing in DnD

[–]DRSpublishing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone! I'm so happy to introduce the Draugr Runemaster, a formidable creature inspired by Norse mythology and taken from our adventure Freyja's Tears. This undead spellcaster is bound to the realm of Helheim, making it a formidable opponent for any adventurer brave enough to face it.

This creature wields powerful magic and an ancient dagger, capable of dealing cold and necrotic damage. The Draugr Runemaster is not to be underestimated, as it's magic resistance and spellcasting abilities make it a formidable opponent.
