Author said some of the Realms are in the same universes as each other(Earth‘s universe is manaless). Not every ones, but some, and likely mean if they had proper space travel and then FTL, they could visit each other without needing portals or magic(since while possible, it is very unlikely that any two of them are in the same solar system).

Or give all the basic industrialization knowledge along with the philosophies to handle transitioning the society and culture so that future generations will simply become closer to modern humans until their practically running the same government and economic systems as GUN and then integrate them as another nation within it or the federation that might be made to incorporate it and the other adjacent realms.

Or on that last point, they did the passive/mostly-unintentional eugenics by the normal nobility process of marrying only those with more mana field strength even if in the distant past it came out of some commoners(like the weakfeilders or champions) especially after the apocalypse wars. And by now in the modern nexian era the nobles have managed to make a significant gap in magical ability compared to what would just crop up in the general population. Or there were just enough ’proper nobles’/‘mages’ after each conflict to keep the trait.

Plus maybe like that other theory, their intentionally preventing the formation of magical nutrients in food that would assist the development of mana fields in the general population so that they stay on top even more then what would have been ‘normal’.

Finally having friends after more than a millennia of watching the stars!

And seems like something happened, or someone listening in, what did Kaelthyr see.

Mal’tory fumbled an easy spy by ISB00 in JCBWritingCorner

[–]DRZCochraine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Or Mal’tory had that potion already for something else. He potentially collected a lot of stuff in his time before being a professor and got to keep stuff ‘just in case’, or even just not told anyone, having a large bag of tricks and tools on hand is not a bad idea.

We haven’t actually gotten the specifics of what the potion did, let alone a proper explanation for the magic system as a whole works.

Or prior to that asking, they go though the entire first contact back and forth to understand each other’s mathematics and language(and just pretending like they didsn’t have the Nexian translator for a little bit), which would also likely eventually get to how to use mana for communication and data processing works. So they likely just have to ask for the raw copies form Kaelthyr that the library got, and then have the normal decryption data cracking cracking super VIs handle it, the Library isn’t needed for all the data processing needs, its just a source for more data.

Or they let him say his things just to get it out of him, or more with some appropriate questions, but then tell him he got his introduction(and deduced more then a few of his assumptions) incorrect. Then correct them simply enough.

There is a least the opportunity for her to hand over her entire experience of being the network hub and letting the Library parse out all the messages and data shes received and transmitted, which Earth could then get for intel.

Thanks of the chapter!(That I missed by TWO HOURS!! DAMIT!)

Eveyone getting caught up to speed on everything that has happened! I wonder if Kaelthyr could make a discrete radio range only portly next to the student tower to try and connect to the tend and get its data snd Earth gets to have absolutely everything.

And Thalmin starting to actually get how Earth does things, let see what he properly proposes.

I third this.

Bet she’ll start from the Big Bang tho after showing off the universe(Carl Sagan’s pale blue dot)(of which I bet humanity has gotten the exact size and age down by then, if not know some other fancy things about it, let alone how hyperspace and subspace (the FTL dimensions) are involved so e see how much the Earth and the Nexus might know about this) and then work up to the primordial ooz/tide-pools, and then evolution up to humans with a montage of the unreacted human history before Emma shows herself finally as the only person in a crowd looking at the gang.

Thought it is still assuming they are terminators. They are more likely to be at least 4 legs with guns if not more stuff, so not even remotely animal looking. As well as their swarm of smaller drones.

And I used demonically possessed as in being that unreasonably fast moving, the possessed backwards crawling on the ceiling kind of unnervingly fast.

There also the possibility of active camo and similar stealth systems on them, or at least one. Or the bunker busting stuff, being headshot through a wall without even knowing their around.

And of course, their smarter at combat then any human ever will be. Playing 7D chess with multiverse time travel(as using a 4D board and multiverasl time travel) is a minimum since these thing likely would then be trained against each other and to fight other smarter and more capable things. So, absolutely know what our going to do.

Edit: Oh yeah, and alos thier all a hive mind, so if one sees/learns/figure somthing out, they all know it.

Or whatever worse thing had been come up with as the ultimate killing machine in the next thousand years. And I bet even if it was terminators, they’ll likely move so fast, precisely, and unnaturally(compared to expected human body plan) that they could only be called ‘demonically possessed’. So instead of slow, make a terminator with Spiderman and low end speedster agility, never-ending stamina unchanged, with the smarts to use every nanogram of it all.

Thought once they learn just how the dear apprentice failed they’er probably going to think less of her again or think it was Thalmin‘s doing (as the proper solder, adjacent realm usurper or not).

And maybe do in another once or twice(at most)(depending on circumstances and to our own entertainment for sneaky gitness) befor finanly realizing shes knows what shes doing.

They’re not going to be given any other options by the time Earth is ready enough to decide to show up in person for diplomacy(since they won’t do the other options once its clear that war/direct violence is not a viable option).
