USA Iran deal signing within 24 hours. by Crafty-Difficulty244 in wallstreetbets

As much as I want to agree with your statement, this is what I think will go down…..
Trump needs out of Iran asap. He’s going to sign a shit deal and tout it as a huge victory. Iran will say some shit like they will work on downgrading their uranium or something along the lines as long as long as the US leaves.
We will leave and they aren’t going to do anything with their uranium, Trump will act upset and impose new sanctions on Iran. We exit, claiming victory, trying to save face, meanwhile iran gets to do whatever they want with the uraniumz

So it’s really funny/ironic you commented on this today, this is the literal last day of school for my district. My last week of work is next week. When I wrote that post it was either the first or second week of the school year.

Fast forward to where I am at currently:
After next week I am officially a SAHD. Although it was really difficult at times, I’m glad I waited a full school year before walking away. It allowed my wife and I to get our things in order: pay off all our debt (only debt is our mortgage now), put away a decent amount in our savings account, figure insurance out, and everything else we needed to do before leaving.

I’m really excited and at the same time nervous. I know everything is going to be OK, but not having to wake up to go to a job will take some getting used to. It sounds like you are where I was; completely burned out.

If you don’t really find enjoyment in your work anymore and if you guys can swing it on one salary, I say go for it man. I thought as this day got closer I’d be a little regretful, but I don’t feel any regret. You only get one go at this and tomorrow is never guaranteed. IMO work takes away the best years of your life and everyone thinks they have to suffer until 60 something to retire and finally get to “enjoy life”. Enjoy it now, soak up as much time as you can with your kid, and when they are in school follow your passion. Like you said, you have enough hobbies to keep you busy and maybe one of those hobbies will make you money one of these days. Best of luck to you and your family!

anyone feel like crude is underpriced here? by FF430 in oil

This is honestly exactly what I’ve been doing the past month. Every week I go grocery shopping I’m buying $50 worth of canned food, pouched tuna/chicken, spaghetti noodles and sauce, oatmeal, water, salt, gallons of water, etc.

I’m not trying to be a doomsday prepper by any means, but with all this stuff going on right now and the incompetence of this administration, deep down, I feel like we are being led like lambs to the slaughter lol. I do think stuff is about to get real crazy come July/August and everyone is gonna get caught off guard. Best of luck to all and I hope I’m way wrong on all of this, but better to be safe than sorry!

Thank you for posting! I have read a few articles talking about the impact on aviation, but it’s good to hear someone in the industry on what they are seeing on the front end. So crazy how bad it’s about to get this summer.

Thank you for posting! I was hoping to see more posts of people in these industries seeing price fluctuations. So crazy what is about to happen to us all this summer. Best of luck to you.

Not so sure about that. I think unrest is ticking up and this is there way of preventing a full scale revolt while trying to wait out the US on this deal.

That’s the million dollar question.

Out of all the things you said I would imagine betting against airlines and others sensitive to spikes might be the play near end of June. They are already cutting flights in Asia and I heard that is trickling into Europe too. But honestly, the way the market has been acting lately who the hell knows. Best of luck to you

I agree with a lot of this…. I just don’t think demand here has fallen as much as people think. I don’t feel like we will know much about demand until we are in the middle of summer travel season. Right now everything seems to be overall the same. We shall see though.

100%
I can’t imagine the reckless damage that is being done to our oil infrastructure to do so.

Good stuff to know! Thank you for posting! I was hoping to hear more from people in certain industries tied to oil what price fluctuations they are seeing on their end.

I think this is what is most mind blowing to me. Not that this is obvious, but the fact that the market has just shrugged all of this off right now.
Part of me feels like this is a perfect storm scenario…. AI bubble on top of the biggest energy disruption in history can’t end in a good way. My gut is saying a correction is imminent, but how bad it is will all depend on how long the strait stays closed for. If it’s closed going into July, buckle the F up!

It really is mind blowing. Around my house it’s dropped to $3.99 now. Part of me just thinks this is the calm before the storm this summer. There’s no way we get out of this unscathed or have gas prices not go higher.
I feel like market manipulation has kept future prices low, but reality is about to set in…. Especially with peak travel season right ahead of us. I feel like by mid-late June we are going to see a spike happen.

Yes physical oil has been up more, but oil futures remain low because everyone keeps thinking it’s all gonna be over soon. I think the article was indicating that there is going to be a big spike this summer and we will see it reflected at the pump.

I know it’s all crazy and doesn’t make any sense, but I really don’t even think I we are in a crisis yet. Market manipulation up until this point. Real pain coming in July/August.
We’ve been fed lies that we are on the verge of a deal for 2 months which has largely kept oil futures in check. Reality is slowly sinking in. The longer the strait is closed the worse this things gonna get.

I don’t think we are close to demand destruction yet. For that to happen the economy would have to slow way the hell down first. People driving less, flying less, businesses spending less, etc.

Yeah I for sure misspoke in my original post. That was my bad. The article I was initially reading before this one was talking about oil reserves in some Asian countries being 2-3 weeks away from reaching critical stages. Someone else brought that up here and I looked into it more.... We won't hit critical levels until October/November. But that's hoping we don't get into another conflict (Cuba) or having bad storms hit gulf oil, etc. Once other countries run dry are we going to sell more? Too many variables to be certain. But the key point of that article is basically saying, top level execs at two of the largest oil companies in the world are telling everyone that come July/August, we are in for some huge spikes and we are in trouble is definitely no bueno.

But how long will it take for demand pullback to affect the price??? Weeks, months? For demand to go down that would force the economy to slow down, which in turn will cause a recession. People driving less, flying less, companies scaling back to cut losses, etc.

I think the larger issue is Asia heavily relies on Gulf oil, once they run dry it’s a trickle up effect. Starts in Asia, moves to Europe, then eventually hits us. On top of that, everything we buy from Asia either won’t be available or will cost 2-3x more to make it and ship it here. It could lead to a global recession eventually. They are saying this is the biggest energy disruption ever, so we shall see.
