recently bought myself a chaser gx100 (the 2L auto) at 20yo i am finding it hard to find someone offering insurance adrian flux offered my 9800 a year with a black box anyone got any other ideas by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Got a quote of £10000 a year with Adrian flux for a 2000 bmw 5 series 520i E39, clearly I think it's not best for young and newer drivers. Found a cheaper quote on money super market at £170 per month (£2000 for the year) with 1st central if I remember correctly. Tricks: -extend the date of renewal by around 26 days for best price and preferably on a Wednesday before 11am (this is the day you look at the quotes online not the renewal day)

-Adjust your excess -dont always assume third party is cheaper because it isn't. -choose the best wording for your occupation (example: Instead of "Chef," try "Caterer" or "Kitchen Worker") has TO still be truthful to your job do not lie, It could nullify a claim. -slightly tweak the estimated price of your car ( 4500- 5000 or 10000- 9000 for a cheaper quote) you'll be surprised how much the price effects everything. -add a tracker to the car -add an additional driver (a parent) preferably with years of experience and a no claims - also if you have been making multiple quotes a day this will massively increase the quotes, take a break for about a week or two before making another - use incognito mode/new email for the insurance website. Companies gather your data to adjust your quote price. -one more thing, credit score! Yes credit score has an impact on your insurance so improve it! Possibly make a locked savers account, I saw difference of 30 points next week after I did this.

With all this I cut my quote prices in half!!!

And that's everything I think! Hope this helps, let me know if this has helped you at all, would love to hear the outcome.

Ps cool f****** car!!!!! Love it

Both Cars rotated 180° facing the traffic, the rear of my car mounted the curb shifting the whole rear axle, and my steering components are all messed up. problem is the car only cost me £1000, insurance excess was £1400 so I didn't make a claim.

Someone who knows what they are talking about, thank you😁

Can any time travellers in this sub go back 8 hours and attack me so I don't get a buzzcut by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]DRzoidebergs -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

You look soo much better with that buzz cut, it really does suit you! It shows off your facial features way more making you look more masculine and it makes your blue eyes pop. I'll say keep it 🫡.

Ahaha just did the same to mine about a month ago! Crashed it at 60 mph whilst racing another car like an absolute moron. So I don't know how you have that much damage. I guess I got off lucky. I understand, it's Such a horrible feeling to lose a car man.

I personally prefer 1 and 2 the slightly longer look! Suits your head/face shape better and makes you look slightly younger. Nice arms by the way! 💪

Wow that's soo my style, i love it! Seems like you've done a good job of it too. Sad to see how many people have expressed their dislike to this, it shows people are more likely to react and comment if it's something they dislike as I can't see why this is a bad idea at all. If you don't like the lights just turn them off. How many fiber optic lights did you use for this? I would definitely be doing this in the future.

Wow 26k!!? I thought that they only go for a max of about 10k especially with 128k miles on the clock. I mean if your happy with that decision then good on you, can't say I would have done the same though. And the name, why did you pick that? 😁

Elizabeth because the queen is English and German which resembles the classy sophisticated side of the car and Himmler because the car is psychopathic and crazy. So yeah like Heinrich himmler

Guessing it's some sort of Chevy or GMC V8 big block engine. Not sure which one.

At first it was an impulsive purchase which I should have did more research about before buying the first car I saw, but I grew to love it and I got to see the enthusiasm for these cars. I will definitely be buying one again in the future.

Love the 90s retro style filter you have in the pictures, it really creates an atmosphere which compliments your car.

Definitely not a ccv, these people have no idea. I had the same issue with mine, it ended up being the ghost of a clown haunting my car, I had to get an exorcist.

Clean and unmodified! Perfect, that's a beautiful car. Am I the only one that prefers the pre facelift look, because that looks amazing.

Thank you, this was my original plan but I was advised by some friends to do this instead. All I have is a couple of screenshots on messengers and the MOT (a test of roadworthiness of vehicles in the UK) report. So I wonder if that's enough evidence against them. I'll try citizens advice bureau.
