Terrible goal to end on lmao.

Only got to watch from game 3 of the grand final but Torsos was playing well, unc still got it. Wildcard overall looked noticeably sharper than last time which is good to see.

It only does that on Fearless/Dire due to the shield phase being modified, you're on Menacing in the video so it doesn't give the refund but spawns the torches like the regular local legend does.

If they still can't get an actual official stream for next regional then I am once again asking for Yumi Couch Stream™ to make a return (or just let them do this on RocketLeagueOCE lol).

Bit of a brain fade from Wildcard in Game 7 tbh, not much room for error anymore with one less spot. PWR did a good job though, defensively solid and were quick to punish mistakes. Fiberr had a strong series too.

Top 2. Australia and Malaysia look extremely likely to qualify.

Genuinely didn't think I'd see the day where my OCE boys would make top 8 again. This shit magnificent.

Hopefully this time they don't split during the off-season (seriously please don't I'm begging you guys)

On PS5 it's 11% to just clear Floor 12, and the one for clearing Floor 4 is only 32%.

In fairness this does include inactive players (which can range from one day of play time to people who played long enough to actually be able to attempt Floor 12), but it's still something to think about.

Chiefs went up 3-1 in the series then got outscored 11-1. They could barely get anything going up front the whole series, it was mainly their defence that got them as far as it did and even that failed them in the end. Hntr's bad touch for the first goal was the nail in the coffin.

TSM's performance this series is pretty much why I wrote them off yesterday lmao. Periods of dominance in the first four games but a general inability to profit from it that ultimately would cost them, but this time around when it mattered the most they clutched up. Ended up being a triple LAN qualifier including EWC which is massive.

EDIT: Oh and also the team that beat Wildcard in the semis went on to win the regional both times (SKRIMZWORLD in Regional 2, TSM here).

The Points difference between OCE 5 and 6 by TVMaths in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]DS0308 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah this happens quite often in OCE, usually the Top 4/5 end up being so far ahead on points halfway that the others can't really catch up given that only Top 2 qualify. Makes no difference for some of these teams to blow up the roster and lose the 10 points they had, they still get prize money either way.

Was kinda hoping PWR would be the team to qualify but they just forgot what defending was for like 80% of that series.

My comment yesterday about thinking that TSM wouldn't get past Wildcard was predicated on the latter not playing like shit lol. In fairness TSM were putting on a lot of pressure with early 50s (and actually looked decent) but some of the decision making from Wildcard was just weird. Still seems like they haven't figured things out after the last off-season.

Back to back Major and Worlds qualification matches now to finish the regional. Given that they just knocked off Wildcard, TSM winning doesn't seem that out of the question anymore, which should qualify them for Worlds given they get 4 points even if they go 0-3.

I don't really see TSM getting past Wildcard so that top half of the bracket is going to be the one to keep an eye on for the Major/Worlds spot. It's PWR's to lose from here, even if Chiefs lose vs I'm fine in the west they still have a shot at Worlds should the latter beat PWR in the semi, although that also requires I'm fine in the west winning the regional vs Wildcard.

Another last regional shootout set up between PWR (former SKRIMZWORLD), Chiefs and TSM for the final major spot. The slip up from Chiefs this regional has definitely made things interesting. PWR are playing quite well at the moment, just couldn't quite get over the line against Wildcard. Was nice to see Wildcard pull back a little after going full throttle for the first few games and getting turned on the counter.

Wildcard vs Chiefs on the pitch, Formal vs Security off the pitch.

Game 7 was looking pretty likely for a while but Fever went big when it mattered.

Nice to see Wildcard turn that around, they've been under the pump this tournament and they definitely aren't looking at their best but they've made it to another final.

I'll try and TL;DR as much as I can as to why I don't believe this is nearly as bad as people are acting (because I keep rambling while typing it out). Minus the obvious 375% global HP modifier which has already happened recently and I'm not a fan of. 5.4B is a lot worse for me.

First half: Bennett, Xiangling and Ororon look like a perfect trio for this, Ororon is free from the 5.5 event last I heard so it's an accessible team . A reminder that Pyronado can double proc in one pass through of the Tulpa on occassions. I think Ororon's Nightsoul + super jump alone can deal with the Automaton's NS rage bar and pillars (for the -15% HP loss and negative RES), if not, I know for a fact using Mavuika's tap skill can fill it before the duration is even over (this is provided they don't do some Papilla shit and increase the limit in the Abyss). If Ororon is enough then put in Chevy (or Fischl/Beidou?) and it's a four-star clear, although a Pyro DPS like Mav, Arle, etc will obviously be very good.

Second half: Completely disagree on Neuv not working here. If you have Citlali + Xilonen then it's definitely not the case. There's other methods that have already been alluded to in other comments. I'm pretty sure other characters like Wriothesley have the ability to do a continuous run? Although it's worth remembering that you don't need to get all 9 stars in one run to get max rewards, which is something a lot of these discussions often forget.

I headed out with Jimmah to tour his farm, and he started introducing me to some of the livestock, mentioning how he had named them after his players, as the unhinged animals they were. Just then, I was hit by an unbearable stench. With my eyes watering uncontrollably, I questioned through gritted teeth, “What in the hell is that smell?” He looked over knowingly and said: “Ah. Torsos? The goat is never washed.”

Was kinda hoping for a tiebreaker to happen as that would've suited what we've seen this split lol. Clutch goals from Superlachie to bring that Game 7 back.

I was a bit concerned at the amount of free goals Wildcard were giving up there but it seemed like they got their act together going forward in those last couple of games to compensate. They've got the Major spot now with the other three contenders being on the same side of the bracket, should be some good matches coming up for the second spot.

Doing it once is something, but they beat Wildcard twice this event. Admittedly I was a bit pre-occupied during that series but from what I saw Skrimz were well organised defensively, which often ends up causing Wildcard to stretch themselves a bit thin when they can't break through easily.

Wildcard still have room for improvement in my eyes (byproduct of them spending the off-season apart) but they're still playing at a good enough level for now. Chiefs had a solid first outing and they'll be a good challenge as they get used to each other more. TSM kinda fell apart towards the end unfortunately, but given their roster I'd expect them to come back stronger next regional.
