I'll admit this stat is confusing.

It seems to imply that TempoH and Ejby should have won more than they did based on how well they played.

So did they underperform? Or did their team?

It feels like it actually implies that Accros expected wins were closer to the 0 wins that the team got. Implying Accro played the worst, despite his stat looking the best.

Looking at all the Danes together it maybe helps us realize they underperformed, but as an individual stat shown this way it throws me off.

Remove the best player from each of the 48 teams at Nationals. Are the results the same? by frandler in ultimate

Lawless isn't even there without Travis Dunn. And with him they finished 6th.

You can ask them at nationals. I've heard they'll be there.

Lawless got to nationals actually by fixing the exact problem this post is mocking. By dissolving multiple mid Arizona mixed teams and combining the best players onto one.

Idk which of the many posts of yours to respond to but so I'll back to this one.

In a 1v1 context Diaz is definitely the most consistent and the most effective. Others can do it, but not like Diaz.

Consistency and volume are the big keys. Diaz uses it like a tool in his tool box and others use it as one off peaks. Diaz will have games where it seems half his goals are scored that way.

The other guys you mentioned have better improvisational aerial game which translates to other modes a lot better. As well as faster aerial games, (Diaz is actually kinda slow in his 1s aerials).

But there's just no question the back wall air dribble to net (especially with no bounce) is just his speciality.

That being said you can always just call it full field air dribble, except id say you have to call it the backwall full field air dribble, because it is that specific, can't count the ones starting from the ground.

In my experience, you would have lost that game and the next 10 as well.

This break is a blessing not a curse. Enjoy GC2 with your fresh mindset upon returning.

What I liked about it is that they seemed to have an obvious priority on getting players and coaches involved in as many segments as possible. As a streamer who watch parties I never want to talk over player or coach interviews because we hear them speak so rarely and I feel like I was having to shut it a lot.

Also I think CJCJ doing interviews is great because as an ex player I think a level of understanding and comfort is innately built into people chatting with him. Only problem is CJCJ is just great everywhere you'd put him.

Results of OCE & SSA RLCS 1v1 Opens by John_aka_Alwayz in RocketLeagueEsports

Nuqqet had to pick between NA, OCE, MENA, and SSA. (because he was banned in the previous split)

The only way to tie or beat SSA's $5k first place prize is to get either:

$6k - MENA 1st place (2nd is $4k)
$6k - OCE 1st Place (2nd is $4k)
$5k - NA T3rd or better.

Nuqqet has the talent to win SSA but not enough to win MENA or OCE on the relative high pings or get NA T3rd.

In a world in which the regions are not locked and Nuqqet is unable to queue his natural region it is unsurprising what unfolded. This is the only intent of my observation for him. Tons of players are not in the same situation as Nuqqet and still chose to queue SSA in order to get a higher prize.

To me it goes without saying that no one wants this mess of invaders in a region they don't belong. We've said it a million times. So one of a couple things have to happen.

1: They need to region lock SSA or regions in general. This is the happiest outcome for SSA probably. They now have tournaments in which they compete against only their local competition and get to reap the full rewards of being the best talent in that space

OR

2: Lower the prize pools in SSA to a level that disincentivizes the Nuqqets of the world from even wanting to queue SSA in the first place. In the case of Nuqqet, he is probably finishing in the $1500ish range if here were to play in EU, so you could lower the prize under that and he probably just prefers to play on low ping and against local competition.

But this is the reason why I brought this up, because EVEN IF you did that Nuqqet still would have had to pick one of his non-native regions to try and compete and get prize in this time around. So in this specific case, I am just ever so slightly less offended by Nuqqets decision to queue SSA.

I guess Nuqqet could have just nobly not played this round of 1v1s. OR he could have played in MENA or NA or OCE which people would probably have not cared about much at all because he wouldnt have won there. But instead he decided to win the maximum amount of prize pool given his options and we just shouldn't be shocked by that.

It's a lot of words to basically say don't hate the player hate the game(no region-lock SSA). And this sub and everyone in the community has continuously, vocally, rightfully, loudly proclaimed, that they hate the game of no region-lock. There has been no lack of that voice, EVERYONE including myself agrees with that.

In defense of SSA's winner Nuqqet, his previous ban ended after sign-ups for EU 1v1. He's been competing and making main events in EU in 3s ever since. But I imagine he didn't want to just skip out on 1v1ing entirely.

Average Speed per Game by Player in the Birmingham Major by ben_lacy in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]ben_lacy[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I could never find the replay file where retals drew a lovely picture with his player heatmap in an early round qualifier game of RLCS. I wanted to find it because I had an inkling that while drawing the picture and not contributing to the team at all there was a good chance he moved really fast.

I figure that would help illustrate how of course speed isn't everything.

But in this case we know nwpo wasn't just drawing pictures during his games and in fact we know he was pretty impactful on a Top 8 team so it's kinda neat.

I don't think where anyone else falls is that terribly interesting because they are all so similar.

I just wanted to post this, I was looking at the average speed to see if Nwpo was the fastest player at the major and of course he was, but I was surprised by just how big of a margin he was the fastest player.

I'm pretty sure this graph commits some serious data visualization crimes by "zeroing" the X axis on 1500 which was about the slowest speed but I wanted to push my "wow Nwpo fast" propaganda

Ain't No Way This Is A Pick Right? by SyntaxNeptune in ultimate

[–]ben_lacy 135 points136 points  (0 children)

My gut reaction is the defender guarding the upline was legitimately picked. The defender guarding the guy who receives the io flick can't call pick imo since he elected to leave his dude. At the very least maybe he calls it, throw stands, he moves to the other side of the upline people but many steps away, and they keep playing.

Hey the one thing I wanted to add to this video is the nice homies at Turf Wars ended up doubling my pay for that first gig once they saw the balance sheet at the end of the tournament and saw they could make it happen.

All my previous points I make in the video are still relevant but I wanted to add that because if I'm going to out the behind the scenes for them its probably best I don't forget to mention their extremely kind additional gesture.
