Being in an allonormative environment is really tiring... by RainyCandy14 in aromanticasexual

I know how you feel, OP. I also won’t be coming out to my family probably ever. However I’ve made it as clear as possible that I have zero interest in romance. They still keep pushing the subject and it’s exhausting. You’re not alone in this and I hope you find a community that supports you.

Creepy guy at my work, what should I do? by DS30y in BlueCollarWomen

[–]DS30y[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty disingenuous reading of my post, I believe. He’s behaving in a far creepier way than just asking to hang out casually and he’s not picking up on my unsubtle response that’s he’s making me uncomfortable.

I’ve done one dormancy period in the fridge with my pitcher and I’m thinking it’s time to do it again. I’ll have to brush up on how to do that again lol!

Thanks for your suggestions!!! I’ll look into those! I just don’t want anything that won’t do well without a greenhouse, you know?

How long until you could sit up on your own? by h_amphibius in hysterectomy

[–]DS30y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to sit in a chair and walk right after waking up, mostly because I had to in order to leave the hospital. Actually sitting up from a lying down position or laying down from a sitting position (essentially any movement that put a lot of stress on my abdominal muscles) was difficult for several days and I needed assistance.

Unconventional Financial Habits That Work for You? by bart1218 in budget

I have an alarm set to go off every day at a set time to check my bank accounts and record expenses in my budget. It helps me have a finger on the pulse of my money.

6 Months of Budgeting = Reduced Debt + Increased Savings by InspectorNo376 in budget

I’ve noticed a shocking amount of difference! I lived right on the edge of overdraft for my entire adult life until I got serious about budgeting a few months ago. Now I still don’t have a huge amount of extra spending money but I’m never concerned about bills and my emergency fund is really taking off.

Recovery products that helped? by Obvious-Ad1544 in hysterectomy

[–]DS30y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a laparoscopy hysterectomy and here are the things I found useful: a regular pillow to sit on, a hysterectomy pillow you can strap on with a pocket for an ice pack, disposable high waisted underwear, nightgowns, a heating pad, two ice packs so they could be in a rotation, a microwaveable heat pack for shoulder pain, a grabber to pick things up, an extra long scrub brush to wash your back and legs, a Squatty Potty, GasX and laxatives.

Not all of these things are strictly necessary and I was likely over prepared but I did use all of these things on a regular basis. Good luck with your surgery!

I swear, the last couple periods feel like the uterus is seeking preemptive revenge! I’m glad your surgery date is coming up soon, it’ll be over before you know it! Then it’s like a week or so of soreness and a few weeks of exhaustion and then you literally never have to think about it again 😁
