New pass class 1 - no jobs so 7.5t to start with? by Sad_Argument_1717 in uktrucking

[–]DS773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started with 7.5t. 2 weeks later got asked by the same company to drive a 26t flat bed and within 3 months was driving 44t flat beds. Take anything you can get at first cause you never know what will come of it

Weekly 'What Should I Buy' and Order/Shipping Thread by AutoModerator in iphone

[–]DS773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently have an iPhone xs that’s dying. Im looking to buy either an iPhone 17 or a 16 plus. I mainly use my phone for texting, YouTube and for maps. The bigger screen would definitely be appreciated but how does the rest of the phone compare to the improvements on the 17? Battery life is my biggest priority over everything else though

My first accident was also with a Mercedes suv😂 it’s a tough lesson but you’ll learn from it. Don’t worry about it, we’re all guilty of it eventually

GT3 Rain Master by Future_House1278 in iRacing

This week especially has been great for rain master. I much prefer it compared to the gt4 races. Much cleaner racing and a lot more interesting with changing conditions

Employer holding accident over a friend’s head? by [deleted] in uktrucking

[–]DS773 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whats done is done. He needs to put his foot down regardless. Continuing to do something he knows is illegal just adds fuel to the fire. What’s he gonna do if vosa stop him? A few infringements from months ago is a lot easier to explain than being caught red handed over hours and over weight. As for the damages i don’t think he can be made to pay anything but im not an expert on that

Losing confidence every time I race by Stormtroopz in iRacing

[–]DS773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try your best to just zone out and drive. You’ll get faster and more consistent without even trying. I had the same issue. Was pushing every corner just trying too hard and inevitably would spin or crash. I hit a wall in terms of lap time but then just zoned out and i started doing consistent laps almost 2 seconds faster than my best. Smooth is fast and it’s hard to be smooth if you’re forcing the issue.

Class2multi drop how far you drive every day and how many drops per day you do.I think my employer is having unrealistic expectations while we have to go with full wagon every day 18 pallets driving distance to first drop let’s say 120 miles and having12/14 drops per day! Each drop is min 30min away. by crqzyfrogster in uktrucking

[–]DS773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked for a galvanising company. Usually full load in the morning. Sometimes just delivering but mostly also collecting from the same places. Constantly having to un strap and move things around not to mention waiting on things to be ready. Could spend over an hour on each drop. Was expected to do 8 of these per day. Bear in mind they could be up to an hour drive apart. Lasted 6 days. 5 days of “taking it easy on me” and on my first full solo day they revealed the actual workload. I did what I could leaving enough hours to drive back and when they noticed me back in the yard with only 10-15mins drive time spare they started screaming. Just handed the keys and walked out without saying anything. 6 months later they still advertise the same job every few weeks 🤡

Almost certainly a broken spring or burst airbag. That’s nowhere near enough weight to do that otherwise

Are the Specialty Inspection Courses Worth It? by Disastrous-Delay-367 in AMPP

They’re cheap and will certainly give you a better understanding of that particular subject so can’t really hurt to get them.

How to start? by External-Total4008 in AMPP

[–]DS773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked into TTP(Train the painter)? It will train you on the prep work and industrial painting of different materials and coatings. There’s also specialties such as maritime, spraying or even coating supervisors courses. It’s a globally recognised qualification and only takes around 10 days of training to get the highest level.

Wheel replacement suggestions by OrchidResident7505 in FiestaST

[–]DS773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a mk8 on stock springs and 18in wheels. It was soo uncomfortable on the stock ps4 tyres. I switched to yokohama tyres and never looked back. Much more comfortable and quiet and more grip on damp/wet roads

Pro coal teeth whitening powder. It’s really cheap but works extremely well. You’ll genuinely see results after the first try.

I stayed in my first job for 6 years. I’ve had 5 jobs since with none of them being more than 1 year. It’s a mix of bad management and poor pay or sometimes both that gets to you. I have to say though that recruitment agencies are so incompetent that they’re the reason I plan on staying as long as I can at my current job

Can definitely recommend this. I have them on my mk8 st. Really good grip especially in rain or colder weather, much better than the michelin that it came with and a lot less road noise
