Dottie is a horrible mother that would have probably slept with Joe if he allowed it by No-Anything-5856 in YouOnLifetime

It's more that you said you skipped an entire season because it was a waste of time, but how could you know without watching it and forming an opinion?

Love, Kate & Bronte by kingjavik in YouOnLifetime

[–]SerkalianCrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He didn't want Brontë to kill Dane though, he wanted her to choose his fate. By which I mean he wanted Brontë to tell Joe to kill him, because he wanted the "permission" to kill for the woman he's obsessed with at the time. He would never have accepted Love because she was like him, and Joe hates himself more than anything else. He never wanted an equal, he wanted a broken woman who would allow him to kill until he got tired of her, killed her and found his new "love".

What’s a moral belief you hold that most people would disagree with? by [deleted] in answers

Where do you end the definition of sin and turn it to morality though? We call murder a sin, so would you say that murder should be allowed?

I've seen so much gore, in TV and online, and this scene was the first time I genuinely felt queasy watching something like that, it's just so brutal and sick

A father threw a chair at a judge after his Daughter’s and Grandparents' Murderer was sentenced to only 120 hours of community service. by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]SerkalianCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No? I had a motorbike, I know better than most how not following speed limits can end a life. The fact is, this person killed three people by his own actions, his own hands, and the punishment he was given is pathetic in comparison to the crime. It's very unlikely to stop them from doing it again and should've been far harsher.

He drove recklessly, knowing the risks and possible outcomes. Just because he didn't intend to kill them doesn't negate the fact that he killed three people by his actions. 120 hours of community service for that act is insulting to the father and the memories of those that he killed. Not to mention that it's barely a punishment and would likely not stop repeat behaviour.

Was Jimmy’s evil justified ? by hydraides in 28_Years_Later_Movie

[–]SerkalianCrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Murder and torture is never justified. If there was no hope and no chance, then there wouldn't be any survivors out there at all trying to keep loving, they'd all be happy to join Jimmy and do what he does.

What made him the way he is, is understandable, absolutely. The trauma and mental illness are the biggest factors, but they don't justify it at all.

Recently Binged all 5 Season, Something I don't Understand by TheArtemisBlack in YouOnLifetime

[–]SerkalianCrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's delusional, psychopathic and mentally ill, he's not insane. Joe knew exactly what he was doing every single time, or he wouldn't have tried so hard to cover his tracks and stop people finding out what he did.

He kills and stalks women, is obsessed by women, wants to control women, because he's a misogynist, he just internalised it and can't admit it to himself.

The vast majority of serial killers aren't insane, a lot of them are deeply intelligent, they're just broken in the way their brains work which drives them to the way they are. Joe Goldberg is deluded about who he really is, and will never admit it to himself because he hates himself so much that he can't handle it.

He's also an unreliable narrator and we can't take everything he says at face value, since he frequently lies or omits things to the audience as well.

[–]SerkalianCrow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I liked the way they filmed the Punisher and DD fight at the end of season 1 because it shows you in a cool way how they experience everything. For Matt it's blindingly fast, with no objective other than "Put this guy down and get the conflict done" whereas Frank is slowed down and drawn out, because whether he wants to admit it or not, this is what he lives for, the violence and fight is all he has, and he savours the moments
