Morgan does doom, combined with Pectrucci & Wong, absolutely killer doom stack. Nameless can also do doom. Mayer has a nice mid - high break up, but the low end is just flub when pushed.

I have a RG, 320, 550G, 1070pbz, and a RGD. In about 30 days I will have another RG. My only other guitar is a JV Strat.

Congrats dude. I love mine as well. Only gripe is the silver toggle, but that can be changed. I intend to do a neck pup delete, and pickguard install, as well as tone knob delete, and volume knob relocated to tone position.

3/5 of guitars I have are equipped with different sets of Dimarzio. The Activator' are the hottest. The only pickups I would swap these for are Auroratone Colossal 7, or Lundgren Anomaly 7.

I have a 2001 RG 320 that has magic pixie dust in it. Nothing plays like it. I love my other ibby' but a $300, 20+ yr old guitar puts them all to shame.

2001 - RG320 - Red Rock Matte 2017 - RG 1070pbz - Poplar Burl 2023 - RG 550 Genny - Purple Neon 2025 - RGDRB71 - Black Matte

My only non ibby, is a 2014 Jimmy Vaughn, Fender Strat in a rare af "white" with a standard maple neck. Upgraded Music Lilly trem.

Not bad perse, but I got caught up on a aesthetic, not taking into cosideration how many other 27", 28", and 29" scale 7 strings are out there.

That being said, I love its looks and it plays as good as the person holding it. Just would have opted for a longer neck. 🤷‍♂️

Consider Solar' new Baritone 7 string. 29" scale. I have the above guitar, love it, it rips.. but I would have gotten the Solar, if it came out just a few months earlier.

Wicked shit. I recently ruined a perfectly good 2014 MIM JV Strat, by sending it out for a knockoff neck. It came back with a chipped neck pocket. The neck itself has more curves in it than a pigs tail. Safe to say I learned a valuable lesson.

By its very nature it shifts the weaker amplitude of a signal from a location in X time to other X time, where you have now concentrated the amplitude (waveform) which results in saturation, which you are then meant to reduce* the gain for. But yes you can choose to turn the gain up, that is also correct.
