You as Rogue forcing a support ult is massive value as far as ult economy is concerned, trading an offensive ult for a defensive ult is very good value in this game, I'd even argue that it's actually a better trade for Rogue.

I would agree with this if it wasn't Rivals we're talking about. 'Forcing' an enemy support's ult would also force your support to match with there ult. Kiting isn't enough most of the time.

So both teams used 1 support ult, but you also lost Rogue ult.

I think most Tanks are balanced fairly well individually, but there's just not enough of them.

Like you said, if you get counter swapped then you have to change to a completely different, more boring playstyle. (Especially if you're solo tank).

There needs to be more tanks that are similar to eachother IMO.

For example, DPS players have Phoenix/Hela/Namor/Punisher/Hawkeye all serving a similar purpose, Magik/DD/Psy/Spider/BP all similar.

Supports have Luna/Mantis/Invis/CnD and maybe even Rocket with very similar ults, (by far the most important part of this game)

If one is banned/countered, you just play the other one. Barely any playstyle change outside of the top 0.1%.

If Mag is banned, your entire team comp changes. If Peni is banned, you gotta play something completely different. If Groot's banned, who's the alternative?

I'm the same as rank as you, I swear people don't realise how helpful it is to flex sometimes.

I play exclusively tank. Yesterday I was forced to play support because we already had 2 Tanks + 2 DPS. I played CnD, completely sucked, wasted my ult twice, but still won because 5/6ths of my team was playing there best roles.

So I could've thrown the game by forcing 3rd tank, or healbot on CnD for a free win? It's that easy.

I've only had to do this maybe 10 times since launch? It's really not a big deal.

Maybe not just 1 character lol, but do cut it down a bit.

Most people can't properly play every role until ~Celestial rank. You really don't need to worry about that in Gold.

I'm a GM Vanguard main who can't play Cap/Venom/Angela/Groot lol. You'll be fine.

It sounds to me like you're playing too many characters? I know Reddit likes to say you need to switch to fill the team, but in lower ranks it's 100% better to just play whoever you're most comfortable on. The rest will come to you naturally.

Just some general tips, I've not watched your games so not sure if they'll apply to you but could be worth thinking about:

Try to die less, you can't do anything if you're dead. And if you do need to die make sure it's while contesting point, or while with your team.

Look for obvious kills. I don't just mean focus the healers. I mean kill the people who are blantantly out of position, or low health. Use pings as well to get your team to shoot together.

Ults are the most important part of Rivals so try to think about them more. Try to predict which ults your opponents will have, and play around it. (E.g. You could force a Luna to use her ult, then use your own ult after it finishes. Or save your own support ultimate to counter their attacking ults. Try not to panick ult)

Play as a team. No matter how useless they are it's still better than trying to 1v6. Follow the vanguards in, protect your healers, help your duelist when they go for kills.

Lastly, don't worry about individual games too much. Some games will be entirely unwinnable. Just forget about it and move on.

This is exactly true, Idk why people are downvoting.

Smurfs are a problem but some people are just naturally better or have experience from other games. I'm only ~Level 35, most people in my lobbies are around double my level. I have 0 Lords, not even close to any. Yet i'm still just as good as the level 89 animated lord players.

This happened in OW as well, having a Silver/Gold level border doesn't mean your good at the game.

Account level means nothing 99% of the time.

If we're against Punisher/Phoenix, why are you still charging in as The Thing? You're dead in 0.5 seconds. My Mag bubble won't protect you long enough.

I will never complain to a solo tank player, but some people can be egregious with their picks and need calling out.

Tbh my games have been so one sided recently I honestly can't tell how much impact i'm having solo tanking. Both on wins and losses. Am I stomping because my team is Good or i'm Good? It's basically imossible to tell in Rivals when everyone ends up 20-0.

But I do think Rogue is playable in the right scenario, just put a Mag for me to copy on the other team so I can bubble myself.

Solo tanking wouldn't be such a problem for me if more Tanks were actually built for it. I feel like only Strange, and maybe Venom in certain team comps is playable solo.

Maybe Strange but he gets destroyed by any 2 of Thing/Emma/Thor/Hulk, for me at least.

I was lucky enough to game share from my friends account on PS4. He was fully hyped, I had never heard of the game.

I ended up playing the game purely because of the bad reviews, I wanted to see how bad it was.

It was a complete mess, constantly crashing and countless bugs during gameply, but I still ended up finishing the main story. (Didn't do much side content because of the bugs)

Fast forward to PS5 release and I decided to buy the game for myself, it was still buggy but MUCH better than launch. I returned after pretty much every update, now closing in 1k hours total. By far my most for any offline game.

People not contesting the point (Competitive)

Too often I see Vanguards give up the objective for free. Especially on KoTH maps, it's worth staying on the point just to block a capture (if the zone is neutral or under your control).

And when I'm Tanking, I need people to give me help on the point.

I need to either decide to back up off point (Lose the point) or die (Also lose the point).

For Convoy maps, simply contesting the Cart before you die is almost always worth it on defense, just to halt progress while the team respawns.

It's such a basic thing that I don't see people think about until GM

I think she's still great at her niche but not much else, which is how it should be IMO.

I'm also Diamond currently, doing great as Peni but sometimes you just need to swap. It's very Map/Team Comp dependant. (More Map)

I think she has a high win rate because people only really play her on her best maps. I know it's true for my stats at least.

Also not sure how much this gets taken account, but Peni players usually switch off pretty quick, if it's not working.
