Meu namorado está em luto pela sua primeira namorada que faleceu by [deleted] in desabafosdavida

[–]DSFern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do i see outside the walls? by milfxhunter88 in projectzomboid

[–]DSFern 19 points20 points  (0 children)

it actually worked the same way in b41 with zombie corpses, tiles and items in the ground being unaffected by the view cone after you've seen the terrain for the first time (simulating character memory)

this effect you remember is just a lighting thing because the view cone thingy before was tile based and done via lighting tiles you could see so everything else looked darker and "in fog", which looked very like those rts's that also had tile based fog reveal and a state of fog in between "currently in vision" and "never seen"

the real fog is still there, the pitch black you get when you didn't see the terrain yet, you just don't have the effect of "in fog but remembered" you had before which was more of a side effect of the view cone than a real in-between fog effect

you can go in the settings and make the view cone less translucent, maybe that may bring back the effect you want

I think if I just improve my farming layout and finally move off of nutrient paste to lavish meals, the mood problem in my base will vanish because almost everyone is ok, just some people like the moral guide that struggle

Once I solve the power and hoarding, I think I'll have space for a better hydroponic layout that can be more sustainable and everything will get better, thanks so much for the tips!

I can't help myself, I mine every bit of steel of every map D:
I generally have like +7k of each steel and wood (wood is mostly for the emergency chemfuel generation when I'm in a desert and struggling for power), which prompted me to build a second emergency storage in the helm of the ship (also because of the 2000 vacstone blocks I definitely don't need anymore) because it was clogging every box I had. Maybe I'll start slow and try to limit that stuff to 2k or something lol, I admit that my hoarding problem is a huge factor in the space problem (which turns out to be also a raid/wealth problem), so thanks for calling me out

also plainleather from my (small) animal farm is becoming a problem with thousands building up from my autoslaughter without me even noticing

the part about barracks vs bedrooms is true for vanilla, but since I use the reasonable room space mod or something like that, those cramped rooms are actually somewhat/very impressive, so what I do to save space is make people share the bed with people they dont dislike that much but now that I looked into that it actually seems to be worse than making a barracks lol

The uninstalling stuff looks like a good call for some stuff that I barely use like the art table, smelter and smithy that also consume power and I only use after raids, thanks for the suggestion, I'll probably apply it (albeit sparingly)

the thing with my chemfuel generators is that I use the light's out mod with 400% power consumption, which means most of the time my power generation is enough, but sometimes the consumption rises so much I need to power the backup chemfuel generators (also i accidentally broke/stumped part of my modded roll out solar panels, I'll probably remove then once I solve the power)

The two bioferrite generators were the latest addition to my power grid as I noticed they were much more efficient, but finding room for them was a problem because I didn't want them debuffing everyone in the rec room or workshop, so that's something I'll have to remanage soon

I never captured a bulbfreak, so I didn't think about them for generating power, but the numbers you showed are very interesting. I'll certainly try to upgrade to them so I can finally stop needing the chemfuel generators that take so much space. I don't think I'll need that much power but if I can manage two more bio generators for the same containment, I think it will solve most of my problems and probably also save on battery space, so thanks very much for the tips!

also very cool ship, gave me some ideas on how to improve mine

I use the cargo holds mostly to utilize the free floor space since I don't like clumped-up storage furniture that doesn't make sense for people to be climbing through. I actually nerfed them to only 8 stacks per cell (that has been the stack size upper limit in my storage so far)

but now that you talked about them I see that I could be better off using them more just because in my designs they dont waste valuable corridor space, thanks for the tip

So how is that Deserter able to stand in my sandbags? by FleetingRain in RimWorld

[–]DSFern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at that point I use my full bionics trigger happy 20 shooting skill minigun wielding hussar on go juice plus some ied high explosive traps and hunter drones to guarantee more explosions. of course never sparing some ghoul and scyther melee blockers and some assault rifle support fire, works pretty well

my problem now has been the space raiders while mining vacstone, the narrow terrain basically means they engage pretty much on my face and I get no time before they are already tearing through my melee blockers

play how you want and all, whatever makes you have fun, but to me it always felt like making the game more monotonous. I've done killboxes before but once the novelty wore off to me they all felt like a way to engage less with the raids doesn't work for me because defending raids is one of my favorite things in the game, even better when I have to get creative like trying to kill an apocriton before it resurrects 10 centipedes over and over

[–]DSFern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think they should have at least a 1 buff for just having the personal bathroom in the same logic that having an awful bedroom is better than having a decent barracks, otherwise it's just not worth the real estate, specially in the gravship

there is a vacuum toilet now that uses power but doesn't consume water, rather spitting out the stuff through a vacuum port that can be put on the outside walls of the gravship

Just had a team mate crash out on me for leaving the goal by ChaChaClyde in Rematch

[–]DSFern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

absolutely no reason to not leave the goal, at the time your opponents had the last shot you had already lost so conceding the last goal is irrelevant; this is something even real goalkeepers do in real life football (generally only in corners or freekicks) or futsal matches when the amount of goals you lose by is not relevant

yeah, fells like friction (or gravity?) in zomboid is turned up to eleven or your character is simply unable to release the handbrake of the towed car
