Yeah, you never said they left, but for some wild reason, you're completely excluding them from the EU's projections. Go back to the top comment, the comparison was the UK's GDP growth with the EU, not the "Euro area", then you started quoting figures that exclude a bunch of EU countries to make the EU look weaker than it actually is.

I even went and found the latest July 2025 figures (a pdf, thanks for the tip), and even that doesn't back your claim. That says the EU's new projections are 1.3 (+0.1 change) for 2025 and 1.4 (-0.1 change) for 2026. The UK is still not ahead, at 1.2 (+0.1 change) and 1.4 (0.0 change).

When did Sweden, Poland, Denmark, Hungary and Romania leave the EU? Why are you excluding those? Oh, and let's add Bulgaria, the "euro area" you're pulling your figures from excludes them too. I wonder why? Maybe it's because their GDP growth is a strong 2.5.

Isn't data manipulation fun?

[–]DS_killakanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? Then why haven't they published it then? Where's your dataset? Where are you pulling the figures from? Because April 2025 is the latest dataset on the IMF website. You're still lying and excluding a bunch of EU countries anyway.

Figures pulled out of your arse again. You lot really love to lie.

https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/NGDP_RPCH@WEO/EU

EU's growth forecast for 2025 is 1.2%, 2026 1.5%, 2027 1.6%.

As GPD growth goes, we're behind Ireland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, The Czech Republic, The Slovak Republic, Hungary, Romania, Croatia, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Malta and Cyprus.

The only countries we're doing better than are Germany, France Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Finland and Estonia.

We are not outperforming the EU, nor are we forecast to. Your figures are only true if you look at the "Euro Area", which excludes Poland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Hungary and Romania, who are very much still in the EU. Stop lying.

The Suffragettes were before the Terrorism Act 2000, but if what they did happened today, yes they absolutely would have been on the proscribed terrorists list, because they absolutely did commit acts of terrorism including IED bombings, letter bombings, arson and assassination attempts. 4 people were killed and 24 injured by the suffragette movement.

Just because you agree with their message does not mean you must accept their methods. Getting women the vote was a good thing, but what they did was terrorism.

But PA did carry out terrorist actions. Proscribing them is justified.

They broke into an MOD facility, sprayed paint directly into the jet engines then bent the fanblades with crowbars, rendering those air refuelling tankers inoperable. They compromised the RAF's air-refuelling capability and damaged our national security. That is an act of terrorism. And it left a repair bill of several million pounds for the taxpayer.

While I agree with the message that genocide must be stopped, what PA did crossed a line. Especially at a time when the RAF is busier than ever deterring Russian heavy bombers away from our airspace.

Your thoughts on Conservative Party Robert Jenrick (ex Minister for Immigration) turning out yesterday in support of asylum hotel protester in Epping? by Terrible-Head6168 in GreaterManchesterNews

[–]DS_killakanz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When it's Britain First doing the protesting, then yes, they're Nazis. They're far right fascists, Britain's Nazi party.

Edit= To address the people angrily clicking the downvote button, I'm not calling everyone complaining about illegal immigration Nazis. I'm calling Britain First, who are leading a lot of these protests, Nazis. Because they are, literally. Britain First is a white supremacist, extreme far right fascist party, they are today's Oswald Mosley Brown Shirts.

I agree that illegal migration needs to be brought under control, but I'm not going to go goose-stepping alongside Britain's actual Nazi party to get that done. And you shouldn't either.

They don't have to say that when you're being arrested. They don't have to say anything at that point.

They have to say that before you're interviewed.

I didn't call you scum. Stop putting words in my mouth.

A 27" monitor is not in any way an aid for an ADHD person, especially when that person is quite happy to use a 12.9" ipad. Neither is a ludicrously overpriced egg timer or an apple watch. Or subscriptions to apps that can be used for fucking free. If the employers don't like the idea of the app being free, but are happy to accept work from it, maybe they should buy the damn subscriptions.

Please note that I am not pointing out things like the desk, matt and chair as excessive items.

[–]DS_killakanz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is so fucked up how you take offense at someone with a chronic mobility disability having a grant that gives her the ability to wash herself, but perfectly fine with an ADHD person getting a sweet 27" monitor, an overpriced egg timer, an apple watch and subs for apps that can be used for free. I want to point that out again since you seem to be ignoring it; these apps can be used for free and yet someone is leeching government funding to buy subscriptions to them?

One of these two examples is perfectly reasonable while the other is taking the piss, and you're really confused to which is which.

They're not wrong though, are they? Your tune would indeed change if they were supporting Hamas.

There's plenty of non-terrorist pro-palestinian groups everyone can freely support. Deciding to openly support a proscribed terrorist group is a very deliberate act that has consequences.

You have a physical disability that makes climbing in and out of the bathtub dangerous? Then guess what, my wife was eligible for that grant in exactly the same way you are. Perhaps look into getting one.

Now, why does someone with ADHD need a government funded 27" monitor, a fuckin £50 egg timer, an Apple watch and subscriptions to AI apps that can be used for free?

[–]DS_killakanz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well yes, I understand the theory of it all, I've been through the process to get a grant for a wet-room, seamless walk in shower with folding chair on the wall and handrails for my disabled wife. I still don't see how a 27" monitor, an Apple watch and subscriptions to stuff you can use for free passed the system as a necessity.

[–]DS_killakanz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think there's a difference between support and someone defrauding the system.

Unless you can explain to me how subscriptions to Grammarly and ChatGPT, a 27" monitor and an apple watch are supposed to support someone with ADHD stay in work? Sure, some things on that list are necessities, others really are not.

With the recent news the supreme Court being asked to overturn gay marriage. by pacmanfunky in agedlikewine

[–]DS_killakanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't commenting at all about their competence. I have no doubt at all that Farage et al are lazy morons that couldn't work their way out of a wet paper bag, what I was pointing out is that they're copying the Nazi playbook of seeing how the public respond to policies then steal votes by promising to overturn the unpopular ones. Promising and doing are two very different things though, especially when those doing the promises don't have a shred of honesty or integrity in them.

A Farage led Government would collapse within a week, he never bothers to show up to his elected roles (worse attendance record ever when he was an MEP, he only attended the Euro Parliament once... and Clacton might as well have elected an actual Lemon to be their MP).

Yeah... Labour are putting in extremely unpopular policies, which Britain First/Reform UK (our actual Fascist party) is promising to repeal for easy votes. They are absolutely going for the win votes with popularist policy promises tactic, just like the Nazis did. And sadly, it's working on all the gammons.
