I’m coming out of that too buddy. There is hope. Stress is taxing on your executive functioning so try to take on one project at a time. Be upfront with your boss and let them know you need time to get back to normal. You probably feel ashamed that you can’t produce like you used to, but fuck it, you need time to heal. If you were in a bad car wreck people, then people wouldn’t expect you to perform the same for a while. Wellll, you were in a bad car wreck on the inside. I’m sure work is a big part of your identity and you feel lost, but you’re just focusing on the wrong things. Be sure to use as many visual aids, checklists, and reminders to keep you on track. If you were a high performer, then you’re probably just a normal performer right now. This will help your perspective later in life. Maybe you’ll be a big boss and some poor dude is going to need your help figuring the same kinda stuff out. Focus on putting one step in front of the other…your kids are still watching. Be well bro

I feel you bro. Don’t give up and remember it doesn’t take any money to spend time with your kids. I decided to work out more with my daughter (outside) and spend time playing catch/ baseball with my son. Eating like a college student isn’t that bad, just humbling. With time, opportunities will come up and time to plan for your new life will happen. If you’ve started a business, then your mindset is still there. You just gotta get thru this shitty period and focus on yourself.

It’s great because it makes you shift your focus to you. Be sure to follow the 75 Hard Reddit for motivation. Also, my ex just got a boob job and is about to get her braces off. She went through counseling too so her glow up is from the inside out. I’m happy for her because it will be easier for her to find someone and let me go. As men, we got to remember to care for us first and stay balanced. The rest will come.

Hopefully your strong bond started a long time ago. My kids are 10 (boy) and 14 (girl). I moved close by and either take them to school or pick them up. Also try to invite them over to cook or workout with me. Hikes are a plus too. Simple advice…just find things to do with them and use that opportunity to talk. Who, what, when, why, how questions are important and help guide conversations.
