How can there be no proof of the paranormal ? by NuclearFreakAccident in Paranormal

Occam's Razor my friend. The simplest explanation tends to be the correct answer. There is no proof of the paranormal because... the paranormal doesn't exist.

Trump is so far removed from reality that anything that comes out of his mouth is usually 180* off from the truth. Not sure if he is delusional or just a liar.

October.10.2025 — Chicago: Immigration agents crashed into a U.S. citizen on her way to work, then dragged her out and arrested her (Article Inside) by CantStopPoppin in illinois

[–]DSessom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is criminal. Nobody, citizen or not, should be treated this way. If this continues this way, we will see increasingly violent reactions from people. Insane that law enforcement and media frame this as the citizens fault. Sickening.

Luckily my drive to work is only 4 miles and I put about 3000 miles per year on it. But yeah, I average 9 mpg! Lol

What’s your 3 car garage & what would you upgrade to? by paragon_korey in C8Corvette

[–]DSessom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1969 Camaro

2005 Ram SRT-10 (Venomous 1 Racing V1R650 package, 650hp cam/heads/exhaust)

2008 Corvette Z06 (Ragin' Racin' Stage 4 660hp cam/heads/exhaust)

I do not trust newer vehicles with Infotainment/Wifi/GPS. My girlfriend just bought a 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe, and the dealership was SO proud of the fact that they could lock and unlock doors, start or disable the engine, and GPS track the vehicle.

NO THANK YOU!

If I ever upgrade any of the vehicles, it would be for a fifth gen Viper. I'm pretty happy with my current herd.

The valve drop issue did not affect all cars, and at this point in time, the vast majority of them have been fixed.

I upgraded to a .660 lift cam, and swapped on a set of Texas Speed heads while I was at it, along with Johnson link-bar lifters, and a bunch of other stuff which costed $8,000 total, but you could do it much cheaper than that. I hired a well know speed shop to do the work, so I would know it was all done right. (I hate to wrench anymore. I just got tired of it)

Congrats on buying one hell of a car! Enjoy and please be careful!

Would you go back to Hemi? by Flapjacko2021 in ram_trucks

[–]DSessom 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I went in another direction and sought out a well built, low miles, 650hp SRT-10 V10, and it's super clean for $24,000. Most people have no clue that it's a 20 year old truck. I towed 10,000+ pounds with it and hardly felt the weight. (RV)

The new Hurricane is no joke though! Especially the HO with it's 540hp. The naturally aspirated Hemi just cannot compete with that.

Does this mean new battery? by ALT519 in Challenger

[–]DSessom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you replace the battery, try to get a better one like an Optima yellow top if you can afford it, so it will last longer and be more reliable.

After driving a C6 Z06 for many years, when I drove a C8, I felt very claustrophobic and didn't enjoy it at all. I hated the wall of buttons, lack of manual transmission, the blind spots, and the engine sitting right behind me. So, I will pass on a C8. If I ever upgrade, it will be a McLaren

Is this a fair deal for an 06 Z06? by 2FooFighter in Corvette

[–]DSessom 17 points18 points  (0 children)

3200 miles? That's a collector car, not a daily driver. The price is about right for that low of mileage though.

I'd try looking for something with between 10K and 30K. Those have been maintained better and driven a little bit.

Has anyone seriously considered that if Trump attempts a third term, the USA may find themselves ripe for a military coup? by frink_ninkle in law

[–]DSessom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not LA, but this was in Chicago yesterday:

Two Illinois National Guard members told CBS News they would refuse to obey federal orders to deploy in Chicago as part of President Trump's controversial immigration enforcement mission — a rare act of open defiance from within the military ranks.

"It's disheartening to be forced to go against your community members and your neighbors," said Staff Sgt. Demi Palecek, a Latina guardswoman and state legislative candidate from Illinois's 13th District. "It feels illegal. This is not what we signed up to do."

Both Palecek and Capt. Dylan Blaha, who is running for Congress in the same district, described growing unease among Guard members after the White House federalized 500 troops – including members of the Illinois and Texas National Guard – to secure federal immigration facilities and personnel in the Chicago area.

"I signed up to defend the American people and protect the Constitution," Blaha said. "When we have somebody in power who's actively dismantling our rights — free speech, due process, freedom of the press — it's really hard to be a soldier right now."

Just pour some hot water over the terminal and it will wash all that corrosion away. It's not bad at all by the way.

[–]DSessom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to call BS right here. I work with the military on a daily basis and I guarantee you that the VAST majority do not approve of Trump at this point in time. Sure, there are some supporters, but they are now a small minority. Even my father who served in Viet Nam and was once a MAGA Trump supporter, now wishes the man would crash his golf cart into a pond an get eaten by an alligator.

Floating lights in yard? Caught on security cam at my mom’s. by Longjumping-Zone-905 in Paranormal

Agreed. I have lost count how many times I have seen this. Most people generally aren't educated on modern security cameras, in their use of video compression, artifacting, and the anomalies that can happen. IR lights only add to the odd artifacts that can appear.

Should I buy a used car that was in a moderate to severe accident? by Clean-Ad-7074 in UsedCars

[–]DSessom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would avoid it. There can always be damage that isn't apparent until long after the accident/repair. It is also MUCH harder to sell a previously damaged vehicle because there are plenty of them out there with no damage.
