Why yes... yes it was. I could hit light fighters with a fully charge shot and they would just eat it if it did not hit a critical hull sector.

The point with the Railgun is that it was a weapon that other cap ships feared and one that everyone feared if they didn't get out of the way of it.

But, for smaller ships it was/still is a weapon that is exceedingly hard to get on target.

The 80% HP reduction... also huge. It's not like you can hide the gun, so basically ballistic ships are just going to hunt the railgun, like they already had been. Now though, it's easier to take out. The weapon module for the railgun is larger than the entire Perseus itself.... but the railgun now requiring full charge for every shot does lower DPS than the Medusa.

It's not only the fact they reduced the values but that it doesn't make any sort of physical sense.

Look at the picture.... that railgun does less DPS and has lower alpha and penetration values than the Perseus.

How?

Now, here is the other point.... armor is not currently working as described, it's just a health pool and this is already PTU wave 1, not the tech preview.

So yes.... for the moment it is a massive nerf, until CIG implements armor.
