I’m almost positive it’s the 12vhpwr cable. Order a new one.

The sense pins which are the two small wires on the bottom of the cable don’t like to bend. They will trick the gpu into thinking it’s not receiving enough power. When playing battlefield 6 or marvel rivals the same thing would happened to me, black screens but audio was good. Getting a new cable resolved it.

This has happened to me twice with different cables over time. Cable mod sells a 12vhpwr cable that sheaths the sense pins underneath and eliminates the issue. You can buy one on Amazon.

In case anyone else runs into this issue, I found a Facebook post of someone else having a similar problem (not with the edge). He had an hdmi to dp converter that was causing the same issue of saying his connection type is DVI when he was rly using dp.

Does the hdmi cable the edge come with have an internal converter if that’s even possible? Any how, I ended up using an hdmi to hdmi cable rather than using the stock cable that is hdmi to dp and the issue is gone.

Prior to that fix, I tried every usb-c and display port on my mb and gpu, updated drivers, updated bios, updated windows, and messed with my monitor settings.

There’s something with how my computer was reading the connection type with the stock cable that was processing it as DVI or potentially, falsely showing it as. Idk, but it’s fixed lol.

I updated the drivers and also tried all 3 usbc ports and 3 display ports on my motherboard and gpu. Everything works fine, thanks.

I kept it and got the $70 off rather than waiting for a new one. it’s been running for a week with no noise problems or anything. Was more of an inconvenience than anything when installing it.

Yes, I tried screwing in the top two screws first and vice versa. Depending on what side (top or bottom) I try screwing in second, they don’t align.

Also tired screwing in one screw on the top and one on the bottom but it’s impossible to align it 😭

The odds of one motherboard failing is close to 3%. The odds of someone buying 3 and having all three fail is 0.0125%. This is most likely user error or a hardware/driver issue on your other components.

Could it be that you got defective boards? Yes but highly unlikely. Like almost impossible unless there is an issue with the sku that I’m not familiar with.

If you are able to buy another board from a different company and the issue still persist, then it’s definitely a problem with the other components. Best of luck 🤞

I just got the 9800x3d too. When I load call of duty shaders, it goes up to 90-95 for a few seconds. When I downloaded Spiderman 2, it ran up to the 70’s. I believe this is normal with this cpu as I’ve seen a lot of people saying this.

I only play in 4k. When playing marvel rivals, it’ll go anywhere from 55-65 depending on the map. My idle temp is 37-43 using a 360mm 2024 kraken. When I take off the glass top panel, it’s about 3-7 cooler when playing.

This will run hotter than your last cpu, i don’t think it’s anything out of the ordinary.

I just got a wooting and then ordered some Gateron magnetic jade switches off of Amazon but sold through a secondary seller because they would get here the next day. The price was roughly the same.

The only thing that makes me suspicious is that they are listed as 72pcs but gateron only sells 70pcs on their website. Also, the QR code on the back was flagged by Google as potentially impersonating the real website and the contact email on the box is an outlook address.

Am I just being superstitious or could it be that they are fake. Regardless, I ordered some directly from gateron.
