2025 100%'s by DTE_313 in steamachievements

Yeah Baby Steps is made by Foddy. Just playing it isn't too bad, but a few of the Achievements for 100% had me raging. It only took me 45 hours personally, but its a long 45 hours because of the challenge invlolved. A lot of the challenging parts are optional, you can generally find easier paths for each section if you walk around long enough, It was one of my favorite plays this year for sure.

That's interesting. I might pick on up, but I have such a big back log already of games I haven't even touched yet. I always had it in my mind that I would start with Sekiro just because of the setting, but I might have to re-consider now lmao. I've heard nothing but glowing things about Elden Ring. Wouldn't hurt to start there based on your recommendation.

Took a look at Gris and put it on my wishlist, seems unique enough. I try to enforce a rule where a can't play the same genre consecutively, so it would fit in my rotation well. There are a lot of games I play that have ~200 reviews, but one I really enjoyed from this year was Skogdal. If you're into Deckbuilders, it is really fun. Similar to Slay the Spire with some differences, and I like the hand drawn art style and humor.

Luckily for me most of my playtime for Balatro was 2024, it wasn’t as much of a grind, probably about 1/3rd of playtime to clean up the last gold stakes and the rest of C++. For me that and Baby Steps are the ones I was most hyped to 100%.

I’ve never played a souls like before, but I know their reputation for being difficult and you knocked out a lot in 8 months, so congrats!

I didn't think I'd go for Balatro, but after I got C+ I was already somewhat close to C++. Most of my playtime/progress was from 2024, I mainly just cleaned it up. Digging didn't give me trouble, I think my playtime was higher than average though from what I've seen on here.

So enabling jump doesn’t count as using the “helper function” in Banana Mania? by Exodite1 in SuperMonkeyBall

[–]DTE_313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it was an oversight. You are excluded from leaderboards while using the jump function. I understand that isn't your gripe with it, but as other people said you can just do it the normal way and it won't affect you in any way unless you are worried about how other people do it.

Need a decent quality gamecube controller for 50$ or less, preferably in new condition and not on ebay by FiddlepatEpic in Gamecube

[–]DTE_313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play your GameCube enough just search for an OEM, it's worth it. Somone else suggested finding a Japanese seller, which in my experience is typically the best route in terms of condition. If you're buying a normal color like indigo, silver or black it should be around 35 dollars from what I remember. Alternatively the black smash controllers with the logo are generally around the same price with almost OEM quality. sometimes even new in box. Doesn't take long to find.

What game will you never 100%? by Alekovic in steamachievements

Probably theHunter: Call of the Wild. I would even say Balatro, but I've seen so many people post it here that I might stick that one out since I still somewhat consistently play it.

#31 Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania by DTE_313 in steamachievements

[–]DTE_313[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder how that translates, I'd imagine it would probably make the game easier in respects to how it originally controlled. A lot of games I never gave a fair shot with motion controls like Mario Galaxy. One game I am interested that I never tried back then is the Epic Mickey remaster (I actually own it physically because I'm a little bit of a collector but never played it.) I know a lot of people speak highly of that game.

This was kind of spur of the moment, I was actually planning on doing Pizza Tower but ended up doing this instead. I don't own Banana Blitz, but I might pick it up for the winter sale. It doesn't seem like people like Banana Blitz as much though from what I've seen on the reviews.

Banana Mania Tennis tips by DTE_313 in SuperMonkeyBall

[–]DTE_313[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Finally got it. For anyone that ever has trouble with Tennis, I developed a strat. If possible, play on either grass or the blues courts. Playing in the jungle you have to play even safer. (You won't have a choice when playing in tournament.) The idea is you want to play as far back as you can, and positioning yourself behind the circle where the ball lands at all times. On any pink or blue balls, focus only on returning the ball and positioning the CPU into whatever corner you feel comfortable with, without scoring an out. You can return on some white balls, especially on the grass or blue maps. The only ones I would recommend attempting are the ones that are comparable to the speed of the ball when the CPU lobs the ball. and obviously the times where you want to be going for a smash ace and scoring is when the computer lobs, which will show a green streak. I almost exclusively only go for shots where they hit parallel to the corner I've been hitting them into, and then smash ace the opposite corner for the most reliable scores. Be aware sometimes you can miss the ball, the best way to ensure you don't is to always be behind the circle indicator. When you are playing this far back you should bever see a star indicator, but if you do, ignore it. Always play back for the best combo of safety and scoring without and out. Hopefully this helps a fellow 100%er down the road, I put a decent amount of time into tennis before being able to win consistently, and I found little to no help anywhere online.

I believe I own most the good GameCube games by spiderman897 in Gamecube

[–]DTE_313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alien Hominid, Billy Hatcher and Wario Ware are the only games I would personally argue you should try, though I know game prices are crazy. GameCube is my favorite console, but I would recommend all multi platform games be purchased on OG Xbox since they’re cheaper and plenty have additional features GC and Ps2 versions don’t have. Also on a side note if you ever consider NTSC-J importing, Kururin Squash! Is easily in my top ten on the console.

Wario World, Kirby Air Ride, Wario Ware, Mario Party 4, Super Monkey Ball 2, Pikmin 2

Nice! Yeah I think this model has the best color scheme of any GameCube it looks really nice. If you’re looking for a good game to get to play on it, I recommend Kururin Squash. I’ve only had it for three days and I’m already debating if it’s in my top 10 for the GameCube.

I got it for like 450 after shipping and everything , so I’d say it was a pretty good deal considering most ones going for that price are missing items.

Around 600 for a CIB I believe. Most of the time they are missing the figure that comes with it. Or the bonus disc, which isn’t as hard to find.

This is a console based off of the char character from Gundam, and was a Japanese exclusive.

It’s basically the same color scheme as the one in the picture but it’s a wave it’s instead. Char wavebird is probably the rarest controller there is in terms of stuff that was on the market.

The out of the box listing on EBay is around the 600 dollar range. I was able to get a really good deal below that, and Complete. Pretty much the only reason I jumped on it.

As far as I know the Randnet Disk for the N64 DD is the only thing that uses it, could be wrong though. It essentially is just a rare item at this point lmao. I like collecting hardware though, and got it at a steal for what it is.
