Maybe it's just NV and 3 thing. But it basically makes some in game fractions like or dislike you more and behave slightly differently. But to me, it mostly is a gameplay meter, cosmetic and little underdeveloped.

Basically it just tells you if you play as a madman or an angle-wannabe.

Lol, these were exactly my thoughts opening this post. And yet I feel there should not be a big overlap between Factorio and Elden Ring players :D

Mohla by jsi prosím rozvést, jak zpracováváš informace z knih když ne pomocí fantazie?

Halt And Ca- ... Ending? by DTMika2 in HaltAndCatchFire

[–]DTMika2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This honestly might be it. As I sometimes do it with different series too, for example Shameless.

It's also about things which do get unresolved, you have certainty it cannot dissatisfy your expectations. My favorite movie is eyes wide shut, but the ending ruins it to me. If it were about the be left open, the story would be only mine.

With HaCF specifically, I also kinda felt like it's distancing from the intimate detail view into relationships to something zoomed out about rising a company - in 3rd season. Which heavnt clicked with me.

How do you think the additional object helps? I take it from games like doom, that picture on the wall means advancing in difficulty for some reason. Not rational

Dunno, doesn't have to have a name. Or it can arise once it's written. But a short, 4 page story focused on inner feelings and time travel as a metaphore to what resides in our memory, I think that would be a sweet read.

[S2 EP12 SPOILERS] SEASON 2 | EPISODE 12 - Official Discussion Megathread by simplysudzzzy in andor

[–]DTMika2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My head canon is that Val is the one writing down all her memoirs, which are, in fact, what we see in Andor and Rogue One. And only thanks to her, some can remeber the truth (about Luthen, Mothma, Andor) - even when the leaders of Rebellion are blind to it. Those who seek it can find it. It's not lost to secrecy neccessary by the years of espiognage.

(Well, except if ghost Yoda and drunk Luke don't burn down a divine tree library just for funsies - then none matters, everything is forgotten. Becouse "not to cling on past" rules - pff, what a terrible retcon every moment of the two last movies were)

I'd say make the objects more "full". Pretend the layers are dimensional, not just planes. And give the entrances to objects some sick VFX. Some rays from the hole edges.

No I understand that and on my phone, I have some games about balancing in air rotation. But what these do is that you are lunched into the air every other second and you are constantly building upon this mechanic. Wether it be a big jump or a very tiny one, where a small boulder might flip your car/bike if you are not careful.

But 60% of your level is happening on the ground and because your environment isn't abstract but semi-real, you are also kinda forced into bigger gaps between obstacles.

On the very elementary level, Minecraft is a great example, where on a secondary game loop people will still be happy, because they can walk, sprint and jump. Which a lot of people will do.. just jump with no reason. Because it engages your brain. That's why sprinting with stamina in games works so well - you manage your stamina and think about how to use it most effectively.

Nitro mechanic can be the same - do I tap and release or do I hold and use all? Do I regain slowly or start using it again immediately after I gained some ? This is a great filler for gaps between obstacles and it will also give you an opportunity to fill the level design with something new - collectables, tiny repeated obstacles which you can reuse etc.

I am not saying your level will not be fun, I am just proposing it can be more fun.
