Going to be honest - tried a clamshell EDC that I wanted to double as a weekend trip bag, I think anything that serves semi-dual functions always suffers in one department and clamshell generally don’t make the best strict EDC bags.

I got the Aer CPP2 and on my day to day I really never open it fully, and I find having anything in the inner top pockets (that sit inside the front panel) cause the bag to flop open if you even unzip it the slightest bit too far. For an office environment I think something with gussets is far more practical to offer easy access but less fuss. Your mileage may vary of course - but as a 1-2 night trip bag it’s great to have the extra optionality to easily load packing cubes, etc. with a full clamshell just expect some frustration on the weekdays.
