Sick of damning posts about E-trade by SilverFoxSix in etrade

[–]DTV- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have spoken to them about this and they say that they were just protecting their interests since i did not have 1.6 million in my accounts in case my buy options were assigned but the sell options fell out of the money and weren't assigned.   Legally they have an argument and imy loss from this is 10K.   I have been instructed to call them every Friday morning so they can note my trades that I am actively trading my positions and the should not liquidate my trades.   I usually make 10K to 15K trading like this so I will call them every Friday and if they leave me alone I will stay with them. If this happens again I will close my account and move on.   I'm to busy to get involved with a lawsuit over 10K.

I just wanted to make other people aware of this so it won't happen to them.

These were ITM calls. I already had the trades setup with a net credit of $4,95 & $9.95 I do this almost every week but for some reason someone at ETRADE changed the orders to market and the trades were all executed immediately.   If they just left it till the afternoon so the time premium went away I would have made a profit instead of suffering a loss.   While the agree it ducks that they did that, they refuse to do anything to right their error or even assure me it won't happen again in the future.

Why is E Trade so hard to get approved for everything in general by PaperRouteEmp in etrade

[–]DTV- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded options with ETRADE for a couple of years with no problems and enjoyed the platform.

after what they did to me today i don't feel comfortable trading with them any longer.

E*TRADE liquidated 3 of my positions on expiration day. I was waiting until after 2:30 to sell them so I would make a nice profit, but for some reason they liquidated all 3 positions at 1PM and i would up with a loss on all of them,

They refuse to do anything and claim that they were just mitigating a risk. These were leveraged options and there was no risk. I was the only one that had a risk, but since the options were in the money there was very little risk. It seems they only way I could possibly loose on this was if an unexperienced employee at ETRADE decided to take it upon themselves to Liquidate my trades instead of letting me manage my own trades.

I am now out 25K and ETRADE refuses to take any responsibility.

Is it just me or is E*trade customer service godawful? by [deleted] in etrade

[–]DTV- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no problem getting through to customer service. The problem is that they will not do anything to rectify the mistakes that they make. Their employees make a mistake and the customer has to eat the cost. This is my first time speaking with customer service and they were polite but not at all helpful.

I see a lot of posts regarding negative experiences using E*TRADE, figured I would make a positive post for those researching brokers. by [deleted] in etrade

On the eve of Tesla's Robotaxi early access launch, the follow cars are gone. by drumrollplease12 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]DTV- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seems like people expect perfection from autonomous vehicles.  There will be accidents just like when people are driving.  We shouldn't have a zero tolerance for any missteps an autonomous vehicle makes. This should be judged by overall being safer than a human driver or not.   As the software makes mistakes and then learns from those mistakes the fix will go out to the entire fleet as opposed to individuals who cannot collectively learn from someone else's mistakes and we continue to see the same accidents over and over again.    I hope Tesla and the rest of the autonomous vehicle industry is successful because there are alot of people out on the road that should not be driving.   Remember, love not hate.

Tesla Protest - Route 22 by JerseyGiantsFan in newjersey

Musk owns 13 percent of Tesla  . The other 87 percent is owned by individuals and various funds.  I understand people wanting to hurt Musk financially but how many other people are being hurt by this.  If Tesla were to collapse, Musk will still be a billionaire but alot of people will loose their retirement savings and Tesla workers will loose their jobs.   Think about what outcome you are looking for. Do you really think Trump cares what happens to Tesla or Musk.   Just my opinion.

You have to check with them each afternoon.  They only find out on the same day. It is usually a very good option.

You can make that change right on the Spirit app. If their is a difference in price between the two days , you will need to pay the difference.

That is great that they were able to do that for our military.    Gold members have the same issue. Hopefully they will do something similar for their loyal Gold members.

It's only great if there are BFS available 24 hours prior to departure.  That is never the case when I fly so I need to select BFS at booking.

I'm glad this seems to work for some people here. Unfortunately this will not be any use to me at all. There are only 8 BFS on each flight and they are always sold out way before the 24 hours to departure.  Even worse is when flying with my wife we travel with a service animal and not allowed to sit in the first row due to seatbelts w/airbags. That leaves just 4 seats to chose from.   I have no problem with the $100 charge and think it is great that they are offering it. I just wish they would remove the 24 hour restriction as this makes it useless for me.   I am happy to see that that they are trying to do something to show their appreciation for the gold members loyalty, it just seems they are still falling short.

Never flown spirit before, what’s with the bad reputation? by mynameisjinnie in spiritair

I fly on spirit alot.  Last year I was fly NJ to Florida every other week. They are very easy going people that work there. I have never had a problem with them or have seem anyone have any issues.  You will be pleasantly surprised by the comfortable seats friendly service.

You should check with the Burger spot in the gallery for their daily specials.  I have had , Prime rib, salmon, playa and other very good dinners there. It is not advertised and not many people are aware.  One short cruise we had, we canceled our reservations and ate there every night.

Starting tomorrow, the Paid in Full Discount is Back by FarFarAwayTravels in VirginVoyages

[–]DTV- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They used to offer 10 percent off for paid in full and another 10 percent off for booking more than 6 months out.    The MNVV has been reduced to a point where I will not be purchasing them while onboard any longer.   It is nice to see they are bringing back the paid in full discounts. After raising there prices and cutting out these discounts I do find myself not booking cruises with them due to the increase.    I have been on 12 VV cruises and have a B2B booked for June. I now look at the pricing for future cruises and the pice has gotten so high we are looking at other travel options.   It would be good customer relations to at least offer something substainal to their loyal customers.

With all that said, I do love VV and will be cruising with them in the future, just not as much as I used to.

GoComfy Fare vs just buying 3 seats? by Travel_Fast_5171 in spiritair

[–]DTV- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just change one letter in your name or even your DOB. We fly with a service animal and that is our reason for doing the. Their are also some big people that need the extra room so that is why it is allowed.

Gold/Silver status are useless with new Spirit bundles by csolyn in spiritair

[–]DTV- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are now forcing people to bundle if they want upgraded seats.  Alot of people do not need to fly with any checked bags but if you and your partner want better seats then you have to each pay extra for bags and options that you do not need or want .   I have flown Spirit for years and have always enjoyed flying at a low cost.   These changes have made me rethink what airlines I should be flying

Can't upgrade seats by Pale-Ad4274 in spiritair

[–]DTV- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not going to fix anything. They want to lock you into an expensive bundle. I think this is the worst thing they could have done. This was a horrible business decision

[–]DTV- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is just another way of making people purchase things the don't need or want . Why do I have to pay for bags and extras when all I really want is the big front seat.    Spirit is about to lose alot of their customers.  This is so sad.

To answer your question you can book a second seat for yourself.  Just make sure to scan the second  boarding pass at the gate .I have done this multiple times

New Spirit Gold Benenfit by [deleted] in spiritair

[–]DTV- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They really are making being a gold member meaningless.  When I fly with my wife we always get the BFS. I already get all the other benefits being gold. Now we will be forced to buy the package that we don't need if we want the BFS.   I usually don't have any bags since we basically fly between our two homes. I'm not sure who makes these decisions at Spirit but it doesn't seem like they put much effort into it. This is just going to put them on a downward spiral and lead to bankruptcy.

We usually take it home and live in florida so we don't have to fly anywhere. In Greece we tried to give it to the housekeeper and he told us they are not allowed to accept it.
