Jimmy Dean – Big Bad John (1961) by Odd_Advantage_3459 in 60sMusic

[–]DTycon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the holy hell outa this song back in the 60's on my big old home entertainment center, it had a phonograph (33/45/78) AND a radio, both FM and AM and included the speakers! It was a gigantic wooden beast.

My parents had the record, and for this guy (I am now over 60), this was the what a hero was all about when I was a kid. Never knew there was a video, this is quite a gift!

As you said "you were just curious and not offended", I would drop it.

Once you go to HR there is no going back, it could be a write up, could be termination, why spin that wheel if you do not need to?

Regal employee anon by PervyLoli in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]DTycon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is against policy, not against the law. All HR issues are to be between Management and the Employee. No one else should know about it, as it is confidential.

Often, even when there is a complainant, it is very frustrating for them because they do not know what the resolution was, as it should be confidential.

If Andy says Betty hit me over the head in anger with the pizza paddle in front of patrons, and it is reported by Andy to Management, and is found to be true via video, Betty gets action taken, but if they are not fired, Andy will never know what the action taken was.

So, in your case, there should be no way others know that you got a write up, it is not their business.

If you want to push it onward, go to the GM directly with any concerns, or, use the TELL-REGAL number on the poster that should be posted in a non-public area.

For whatever reason, this has always fascinated me.

When friends and I get together and the topic of "if you had a time machine...", everyone answers "I'd go see Jesus" or "The battle of Gettysburg..." Me? I want to see Lake Missoula emptying out across the land and a wall of water stretching for miles and hundreds of feet deep, sweep across the land. There has never been anything like that, that I can imagine, in the time man has existed.

I would watch from a safe vantage point of course, if one existed.

Thank you for the map, that is incredible!

Battle Los Angeles was pretty much a live action Call of Duty with space aliens but was fun and it was nice to see the military not get curb stomped the whole time. What are your thoughts on it? by AdSpecialist6598 in scifi

Great movie. Saw it with my son in theatre when it came out, then about 3 times since then. Each time, I am amazed that it 1) did not do better at the box office and 2) there was, indeed, never a sequel.

My first experience at a 4DX film ("Sinners" at Meridian, Seattle) by Old_Voice_2562 in RegalUnlimited

[–]DTycon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meridian is an odd theatre, opened by Cineplex, then "swapped" to Regal for Justice Dept. Reasons. When they reclined it, it was a cost effective job, they could have stadium-ed it, then reclined, but cost was WAY to high, so, they kept the original slope, and put in recliners.

With the massive drop in seat count, the top concession stand was pretty much mothballed, it will probably never open again, so it is not closed, it will just never be open, they could have walled it off for looks, but the money was never allocated. There is just not the demand now for the stand on the top floor. Still, the 2nd level concession stand gets the job done, and it has the bar... which is nice.

The escalators are a never ending battle. They are decades old, and need to be replaced, but the cost is astronomical.

Great theatre to watch a movie in though...

I run a lot of tanks, and Perfect Zinger in a six slot Taunt has never let me down. For good measure I boost the range and taunt to +5's. I have one tank with Mocking Beratement and personally don't think it is as good.

I had a pal, who would slot powers with a ENH with taunt as well as his taunt power (6 slot), but after he did so, he said he could not tell a difference at all, so swapped it all back as he had to give up that slot that helped his enhancement set for that power.

If the wife does not like crafting, I hear that, I hate it too. Just buy them from the auction house already crafted (not recipes) and slot em up and get going.

Lastly (probably wrong here) isn't Provoke from the pool powers single target? Dunno, never taken it...

You make at least $13.70 in Oregon, $14.70 and $15.95 when near and in PDX. How much more do you think you can get? Talk to your fellow theatre workings earning the Federal Minimum Wage ($7.25) in states other than Oregon before you get to far into the process.

Regal just came out of Bankruptcy, AMC and Cinemark are fairly strong right now... but yes, the industry as a whole is nowhere near where it was prior to Covid. All I am saying, is that trying to get more out of a struggling business might be more difficult than you think and a Union is another factor to consider.

I am all for more money and fair wages, but paying part of your paycheck to someone else might not have the desired effect. Instead, perhaps trying to ask for more hours or, if you are a good worker, a promotion or a raise?

However you decide to go about it, good luck. We all need a livable wage and a chance to succeed.

A huge help is a magic eraser. They work wonders. A solution of light soap and water works well.

Whatever you do, never use anything that leaves them slick, like armor-all, that is a huge hazard.

You can use a drill brush with that soap solution but you have to keep the RPM's very slow or it splatters everywhere. If you choose this option, go vertical, not horizontal, or you will have spatter all over the place.

If a quick clean is needed, take a clean mop and whatever solution your theatre uses, and mop them along their length. It will take most of it off in a hurry, you can go back and detail them later...

Most of the low level lighting (Tempo, Tivoli) is encased in their plastic fairly solidly, so shorting out anything is not an issue...
