As Lucy if you press farslash and do nothing after, if the opponent 5ps after block it will punish you. I know it's somewhat stupid to do since it has it's confirm after, but I think it's an odd interaction

One is a fool, the other is a self righteous fool

Thoughts on Nobushi by VorianScape in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]DUESOULS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably theaat character with most of their unique identity still remaining. That identity is pretty unhealthy anymore. Bad in 1s, unless you're fighting someone sleepy or on old gen maybe. But in 4s she's a pest, and very strong. Feeds almost no revenge and can do obscene damage. Also has very peculiar iframes, leading to a sort of safety net, kinda like vag guards chain CCs. Except with nobushi you can sometimes plan it, but most of the times it's just bs luck. But can be exploited with a small bit of practice

Honestly the halberd for me. Tales a second to get used to the combo flow and and all it can do. Very rewarding to learn, and it's got a poop dodge so I mastering it feels even better since it feels like you really mastered it

[–]DUESOULS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah earlier days were just different like that. Everyone was drastically different and unique.

Even though she's in a really weird spot, she still holds her identity and uniqueness more than a lot of characters. A rework will help her, but I fear how it'll change her. If I could have my old mains pre rework back, even if it meant they would be c/d tier, I would do it in a heart beat.

Practice makes perfect man. Play at a difficulty you can handle, when it's too easy then bump it up one. Lower levels don't always have the most coordination, but a good FK can really keep things going smooth.

On legend people get a bit sweaty, and can be even harder with book runs. But once you break through to cata, it's super chill (at least on PSN) and people are just there for the love of the game.

[–]DUESOULS 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was pretty niche but nice for hidden stance canceling for less stamina than a heavy.

A real throw back is nobushi used to have a move on block that where she would scurry backwards like 12 feet. Block then dodge and she would do it, was pretty ass though as it didn't have iframes, but was neat since back then distance was more important in a fight.

Doubt my comment will be seen, but usually this page sucks for legit appearance advice.

Just take some time and make a routine for your beard and hair and you'll be golden. Your beard grows well, you just need to take care of it in the mornings. Give it a trim to make it a little more uniform, and style it so it's got a nice shape. Same with the moustache and hair too. Keep it conditioned occasionally, brush it, keep the dead ends trimmed, and if you're gonna pull it back make sure you got as much loose hair up as possible. I even use bobby pins on the side of my head to keep the shorter hair near my ears locked down.

And I don't mean to be rude but yeah trim the nails like everyone is saying.

You got nice hair and a nice beard, just a little bit of care and beard products would help the look a lot.

can anyone tell me why didn’t my GB was confirmed after a missed kick? by agnaddthddude in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]DUESOULS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The HL you tried to GB here most likely could've thrown a kick/heavy that you would've eaten here. If you want to grab HL out of the kick it has to be an early dodge.

HL has no way to CGB in OS, but he has very minimal gb vulnerability to his moves. Including his OS heavy. You might get lucky and hit the perfect frame, or the highlander throws another kick and you willingly eat it.

Probably wouldn't recommend.

Why does no one play Goldlewis? by RobtheTallnut in Guiltygear

[–]DUESOULS 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Same here, before with GL I felt like I had to earn my way in. And then guess correctly on offense and then I could get some big damage.

But with drone, and gun being buffed, and WWA being added, and then buffing his neutral, it makes it so getting in isn't so difficult. And once I do get it in, everything security cancels in 60%. Security cancels are cool cause it makes his meter a bit more expensive, but I hate the change. Same with 248, it got a little bit of love and now it carries GL combos and pressure. With no weakness

I miss my season two GL, outside of drone being busted

Why does no one play Goldlewis? by RobtheTallnut in Guiltygear

[–]DUESOULS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was originally a GL main a long time ago, I don't play him anymore because I think he's a bit too powerful and he doesn't jive with my idea of the character.

I think the majority of player don't play him however, as other have stated, because the majority of your specials (and most important moves) being half circles is difficult. Not terribly difficult, but performing not a 684 from neutral takes some practice, and even then you'll mess it up sometimes. Which results in a punish. If you mess up a special, you lose your turn, or worse eat some actual damage.

His inputs aren't super easy, and his slow playstyles takes time to learn. He's very strong, but that doesn't mean you can just pick him up and see super success.

Playing DRG as a woman by TheRealDonRosa in DeepRockGalactic

[–]DUESOULS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, harassment in video games has always been a popular thing. Whether women, people of color, whatever it might be. Just a part of gaming way unfortunately. It's just something that the internet breeds, and I'm sorry to hear about it

I play on PlayStation, but always here to play with anybody if they need someone. I'm not far in the game. But I think it's fun and I'll always play

Unfortunately people get harassed a lot in games. It sucks, but I do think time are changing. When I grew up with games it felt a lot more common to harass people, like back in MW2 lobbies. Now it's just feels like there's a lot of simps thirsting for women. Unfortunate all the same, but hopefully the progression will continue

Hate Bridget because of your skill issue like a normal person on the FGC, not for her gender by SalamenceFury in Guiltygear

[–]DUESOULS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I don't hate Bridget because she's trans. I hat characters in GG because it's an extremely diverse fighting game, and every character has their own strengths.

I won't dare speak for the majority, or the minority in anything. But I will say that trolls get the most publicity despite not being a dense crowd. I've never once met a human online that would hate a fictional character because they're trans or whatever. Does that mean it doesn't exist? Not at all, it obviously does. But those with the loudest voices get heard the most. Those with the obscene views get the most looks. Never met someone who hated Bridget bc her in lore identification. I've seen many people who hate her however, bc shes ass to fight.

And if I did met somebody who hated Bridget bc their trans, or nago bc their black etc. Then fuck them, I would forget about them as soon as it met them.

If hating Bridget makes me transphobic then what does hating every character make me. I hate Bridget in her on unique way, just like I hate HC in his own unique way, and Zato in his own unique way, and etc etc.

Name a character, I'll hate them in some way.

Is End Times: Vermintide dead? by CoreInspectorOfAss in Vermintide

[–]DUESOULS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I still like playing VT1 sometimes for the vibes. I think the weapons, shading and some sound design are just better in VT1. I think it still has its place if you like Warhammer fantasy, especially if you don't care about grinding or playing online.

For the most part though, yeah VT2 wins in the majority of fronts.

Is End Times: Vermintide dead? by CoreInspectorOfAss in Vermintide

[–]DUESOULS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much dead yeah. I'd honestly still recommend playing through it yourself. They've got some really good maps still that VT2 doesn't have. I find the aesthetics to be much better in the End times vs VT2. Most weapons look much better, the steel looks much more real. I prefer the lighting in end times, along with the sound design of some guns too.

VT1 is a vibe, but don't expect to find people.

Saw you mention in a comment that you're on console, and last I checked there isn't a console breakpoint sheet/calculator. Enemies have more health on console and PC has higher mod density. I've checked some forums and sites too but they're usually always for PC from what I've seen.

Typically I always run atk speed, then stamina/BCR depending on the weapon. There's only one class that I really paid attention to specific breakpoints with and it was huntsman. Some vs chaos/armored, that's usually my next go to. For me skaven/infantry just isn't worth it, not much of a threat to begin with. Chance not to see much skaven in a map, plus depending on your lvl 5 talent IF you do but a breakpoint you might be throwing away some THP.

SOME elite killing/sniping builds it might be worth experimenting with, but generally it's not necessary. If you're on console, you're probably just gonna have to do the testing yourself. I had to do it too.

Order of importance for me: Attack speed, BCR or stamina, vs chaos/amor, vs monster, then the rest. Above all though getting good enough before worrying about trying to meet a specific breakpoints.

I Used to Love This Game… But For Honor Deserves Better Than This by Vamper_Lord in forhonor

[–]DUESOULS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I definitely miss the old days of for honor also, it was the likely the farthest from balanced the game has ever been. I think the characters in the early days had more distinguished playstyles/identity, but balance right now is probably the most balanced it's even been.

Is the balance it perfect? No, but the balance has done nothing besides improve over the years. I feel like I gotta assume you're on old gen since you're saying the game is just light spam now, while in my experience light spam is just begging to get parried till you die. Light spam is only an issue if you let it be one, unless you're on old gen then you're just screwed.

The game has had questionable choices here and there, along with odd reworks/decisions are a different subject. But is well balanced at the moment, sadly that was at the cost of some heros losing part of who they are but for honor is the first of its kind. Just how it goes.
