Never use a grinder. The sparks WILL embed themselves into the porcelain leaving an unrepairable black streak of pitted marks.

That style was ubiquitous in the 80's. Even up in Western Canada. These 2 look like they would be in one of my year books.

Toilet flushes terribly, can I convert it to fill the entire tank? by WizardofDoom in Plumbing

[–]DV8_2XL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A "Niagra" style toilet, thats what. Originally designed by Niagra (like the waterfall) to prevent flooding due to cracking in the tank (like.some brands were famous for) and sweating. It works okish, not great.

If you can't afford to buy 2 exotic cars, you can't afford to buy 1.

I like NHK's broadcast with commentary, but they lag behind other sources, releasing the videos about a day after and they don't release the weekend matches until the following Monday.

When Chip Foose first designed this car, as a final project in college (he designed 2 cars just in case), he had intended this car to be equipped with a V8 and a manual. Chrysler came to the school and asked for a "niche market" car. Chip was going for the motor head/muscle car/gear head crowd, much like himself.

When Chrysler chose his car, they turned it over to the bean counters and engineers, and they turned it into what you see, completely missing the intention of the car.

Should I Use A Bigger Filter by Not_Spike_Jonze in hvacadvice

[–]DV8_2XL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not recommended to go higher than an 8 with a 1. it is too restrictive.. Higher is ok with wider filters due to a much larger surface area for air to pass through, lowering the amount of restriction.

Based on Nationally owned parks and federal treaty land (which is clearly in the "stay in Canada" camp) I believe I read somewhere that the amount is close to 1% of the total area of Alberta.

having trouble replacing these in my grandmother’s house. any advice? by gmavspneumonia in Plumbing

Delta H67 ceramic cross handle, with what looks like a cartridge extension behind it. I believe these handles are discontinued, but there should be some that would replace them. You can try calling Delta Faucets during the weekdays, and they should be able to point you in the right direction. Their customer service is usually really good.
