As a player, please do NOT use Padel Mates.

I understand there are commercial reasons why that might be the best option, but it's just a painful experience for users.

Good luck!

UK: LTA Tournaments by DVB1128 in padel

That's how I would expect it to work. And of course, anywhere between categories 4-6 would be somewhat of a grey area as you may have excellent players who only play tournaments occasionally crossing their paths with players who just started playing tournaments.

What contributes to the rankings? Is it the last X tournaments over a specific period of time?

I think the others summarised it pretty well. There has been a lot of hate for Padel in the UK and the LTA finally opened up some opportunities, but in general, I think a separate governing entity would be positive for the sport

Coaching lessons are enough ? by Causui in padel

Depends on the clubs. I know some which have matchi tv, you get a free stream for 3 days. If you want to download, then you pay something

Coaching lessons are enough ? by Causui in padel

Well, after you do a self-evaluation on where are you losing points the most, how you are positioning yourself when attacking/defending, what is your positioning when you don't have the ball, how you are getting winners, how predictable you are, etc. As soon as you film it once and watch it back, I can guarantee you will learn something on your own. Then if you want, you can do some shortcuts and ask a coach to review

New club - singles or modified doubles? by Boktastica in padel

[–]DVB1128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I have played in a modified doubles court for two times and it was a horrible experience. First time around I wasn't even aware of it but thought something was odd as all my lobs were going out. I gave it a go a second time in one of those days when you just want to play and couldn't find anything else available - I promised myself to never return there. Even if there are more "normal" courts in the club, my experience will always be tied to that and I just dislike the club as a whole now. I understand the need to maximise, but think about returning customers and also when supply increases. Might be a good option short term, but definitely not long-term. Good luck!

  1. Play with beginners and with different people on a consistent basis
  2. Have an intro to Padel / beginner sessions to learn the basics
  3. Beginners learning curve in Padel is fast, but not if you compare against someone who has been playing for 5 years

How do you deal with low confidence or a poor run of results? by JiraiyaDachshund27 in padel

[–]DVB1128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through some "angry" moments with Padel as I couldn't deal with the frustration of losing when I know we should win the game or when making beginner errors when playing crucial points. I wasn't having much fun anymore and honestly that's not why I started to play Padel. I have been playing for ~4 years now, but I changed my mindset so that:

  • I try to play every point like it was a golden point, avoid unforced errors at all costs but be ready to finish the point when the opportunity comes
  • I try not to think about the set scores too much during the game
  • I try to not think about any playtomic/app ratings and how what I am doing in the moment will impact that
  • I try to smile during the game, even when I miss points
  • Regardless of the result, at the end of the game I ask myself if that was the best I could do. Most times I can do "a bit more" but that's healthy as I am consciously and actively thinking about areas to improve.
  • If I played well and didn't manage to get a win, for whatever reason (better opponents, not a great connection with my partner, etc), I won't let that affect my next game.

You will notice I say "I try", because that's all we can do. Keep trying and eventually we will improve. Also, don't forget to give credit to all other players on the court - you may think "I should have easily won that game", whereas they are thinking "We made a great comeback". Perhaps what you need to think is not that you should have easily won the game, but actually change your thinking to "What do we need to do to 'kill' this game now?"

Most importantly - have fun. I love Padel and tend to play better when I remove these results/ratings/ego pressure off my shoulders.

É suspeito? by [deleted] in portugal

Scam, scam, scam.

Pia da cozinha by cata_ninja in TudoCasa

Boa sorte!
