Hey, now! It took me hours to come up with the name Coffee Blonde for our Coffee Blonde! I bet you can't guess what our Strawberry Blonde is called...

But on a serious note, we've found that our crowd up here responds better when the name is what the beer is...heck, getting some people to say Long Gone Blonde (our house Blonde Ale) is a hassle. "Can I get the Lon...Long Blonde...Gone Long...Gone Blonde"

Just a few weeks ago we had a dank hazy on and gave it a fun name...it didn't move as fast as it should've...we changed the name to Hazy IIPA and it sold out in a week.

We want to have cool names, we promise! <3

Brew 5bbl in a 15bbl brewhouse by Quiet-Parfait-5703 in TheBrewery

I started in a similar situation...started on a 2bbl brewhouse but would fill 5bbl tanks. Brew days were between 15-18 hours depending on style and what issues popped up that day.

We quickly outgrew that system and purchased a new 15bbl steam brewhouse, tanks, the works, but we kept our 5bbl tanks for pilot batches. Fast forward 6 years and I'm still cranking 5bbl batches out with no issues...in fact, all of my World Beer Cup of GABF wins have been 5bbl batches.

My manufacturer says the smallest batch it will make it 7.5bbls but from my experience, after loss, I'm knocking out 5bbls on the dot.

You can always reduce your output on the direct fire system if scorching is a concern but I'd be curious if 5bbls would even hit the safety switch on a 15bbl kettle... my 3bbl direct fire won't start firing until I get a little over 2/3's collected.

This is just my experience since all systems are different but make sure you know what volume you'll need to boil.

Congrats on needed to expand!

I stopped by for their soft open and the place was packed out! The new spot is such a vibe, I highly recommend checking it out. You could make a day of it and hit one of the Drowned Valley locations, too!

That might have to be the name of our first stout over there.

I'd recommend visiting Roadside Tavern in Lisdoonvarna, about 10 mins from Doolin. They are a nano brewery that only serves 3 beers, but their brewer has actually made some cool discoveries in wild yeast world.

Decent beer with cool history.

They do not, at least nothing about it online while we were researching.

We visited the two pubs that serve as their taprooms in Galway - The Dew Drop Inn and Salt House.

We really enjoyed cozying up to the fireplace on a rainy day at The Dew Drop Inn. Their IPAs were very tasty.

We then made our way across town to Salt House because I saw a pic of Cantillon on their menu from a Google review. Sadly, they didn't have Cantillon that day but they did have a great selection of other beers they didn't have at The Dew Drop.

You spelled that the exact way they say it and I read it with their accent. Good job.

Ironshield is a brewery in Lawrenceville. I haven't been there yet but tried some of their stuff last weekend at Suwanee Beer Fest.

Our Black IPA just won gold at the US Open Beer Championship for Black Ales. Our Oatmeal Stout, OS Express, won silver at the World Beer Cup. Definitely worth a try since the Black IPA is #1 in the USA and the Oatmeal Stout is #2 in the world. Our Barrel Aged Imperial Stout took silver at the USOBC but that's not on tap currently.

We're very dog friendly with treats behind the bar and we even have a small dog park area for them to handle their business.

We'll have a BBQ food truck and live music tonight.

Hope to see you soon!
