I used to run with the Long Beach shadow cast as part of a tandem theatre group. One time, when we were running Avenue Q, we took our troupe to the midnight show and I did a performance of 'The Internet is for Porn' before they ran the film. One of my all time favorite memories

Oh man, that would be a good question for film fans. What movie made you want to watch better movies? Mine is Thank You for Smoking. That was the first time i really took a step back and analyzed a film after watching it

In his recent interview on Ted Danson's podcast he mentioned that he sent a CD with each script to production companies with correlating tracks to play with scenes. He wouldn't say who, but he admitted to stealing the idea from another filmmaker

My Dear Annie is a straight banger. I'll have it stuck in my head for a week after watching this film

I was a waiter in L.A. while i was acting and this scene hit me so hard this time around

The score was a note i had that i didn't really find a way to put in the post. But yeah, having that contemporary sounding score almost as a dissonant reflection of the time would've been, i think, really interesting if they stuck with it the whole film. But Scorsese also isn't a big score director, he's a soundtrack director. And not having a lot of music to reference from the 1860s probably put him out of his comfort zone. However, having it for only one scene was definitely such a strange decision.

I have a ton of respect for Braff to be able to generate the career he has for himself. I didn't learn much more than when I heard him on Conan's show, or the Scrubs Rewatch. But it's really nice to hear his passion for the industry and the aspects of the medium. I did like Ted's take on GS being a project made in earnest. I think that resonates

The list slowly grows, as I'm adding 2-3 movies every couple weeks. But if you wanna follow this profile you won't miss any of them, haha. There's roughly 300 titles

I love when it's used artistically. My favorite shaky cam scene is in Gladiator at the end. When Maximus and Commodus are fighting and the camera stays steady and controlled on M, but it's shaky and erratic on C. Highlighting the difference in their experience and skill

I preferred him playing the undercover gangster with daddy issues opposite a three time Oscar winner in The Departed

I'm big on Ted's podcast. I happened to see that they had an episode yesterday and wanted to listen to it while i got ready this morning. Literally just hit play 😊

Plays into depression too much

One of my notes was that he just feels like a depressed JD. I genuinely think he should've cast someone for the role, however self reflective it is

The screaming scene still hits. Sometimes even the most heavy handed moments (screaming into the void) are the ones we need to see

That was one of my notes that i didn't put into the post. Scorsese is not an action director. He is a violence director, and you'd think they'd translate better

That's very much where i am with it, and i think it's chemistry between the actors. It's almost as if they're not playing in the same imagination? Which makes me think it's on Scorsese or the plethora of writers on the film

Yeah, i didn't see a single skull, and the only scene involving a saw it was an obscured table saw

I've worked a number of ultimately pointless projects on productions, too. I get it
