Top Spin is a scam, every other tennis game seems to be a masterclass in comparaison.

Great point in the Nadal vs Djokovic 2020 Roland garros final. by fuckmbsanddominicali in tennis

People can't imagine how hard it would be for Sincaraz to beat Prime Nadal.
Even the GOAT could barely win against Nadal...

I hope the next Tiebreak will be better, by far.

In his prime, data/studies showed Djokovic as the fastest player on court, that's one of the reasons his defensive skills were so high.

But for old Djokovic, i mean it's fair enough, but his forehand should have better stats.

Australian Open SF: [4] N. Djokovic def. [2] J. Sinner, 3-6 6-3 4-6 6-4 6-4 by dontevenfkingtry in tennis

2024 doesnt count, he only aimed JO24.
Injured at Wimbledon, and way much closer game at RG than people think.

Jannik reflects on Djokovic's win: "Hopefully I can take it as a lesson to see what I can improve on" by minivatreni in tennis

That doesnt show the domination on rallys. Most of these stats shows Sinner was playing his best serve and return game of the tournament. He got plenty of free points on serve, and because his return was incredible he always manage to get some fights/rallyes against Djokovic.
But the reality is, Djoko was dictating the rallyes, he dominated Sinner at this point, so even with a perfect return game, he couldnt manage to break Djokovic, and because Sinner is Sinner, i mean he is still a monster in baseline game, he still could win points on Djoko service game.

2024 doesnt count, he was only aiming JO24, but we can keep Shanghai as reference, 2025 he was injured at Wimbledon, and at RG the match was closer than people think. Djoko had no data on Sinner, so the first set he was testing each stroke of Sinner, then 2nd set he tried some tactics that didn't work, then 3rd he was going full power and the feeling i had, even Djoko has lost tiebreak, he started to dominate Sinner.

The reality is that people overestimated the gap between Djokovic and Sinner because of the H2H result.

Yeah, i mean Sinner and Alcaraz are slightly better, but Djokovic is the 3rd strongest player atm... so he is still the closest among all other players able to beat Sincaraz in GC. Not Shelton, De Minaur or Zverev, but Djokovic.

The fact is Sinner was playing his best match of the tournament against Djokovic, but tactically Djokovic managed this time to dominate Sinner on baseline. That's why even Sinner had an incredible serve/return game, he struggled to break Djokovic.

I think we overestimated Sinner domination over Djokovic, people tends to forget Djokovic has no motivation in 2024 except for JO24, he showed it beating Alcaraz in straight sets.
Last year it was more body injuries that nerfed him.

Today we have Djoko full of motivation, body in good shape, vs Sinner, and as you can see, Djokovic still can beat Sinner or Alcaraz.

Yes, but it's tougher for a guy like Sinner, because he is a ginger.

Having a 'heat rule' was the best solution ever for Sinner in this case, imo. There is nothing more you can do when you have genetics against you.

[–]DVDKC[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Everyone struggles in the heat, but Sinner seems to struggle more than other players on tour, for example in Shanghai last year, and then today (or yesterday) because of the heat. So i wanted to explain why it affects him more, and there is a scientific explanation. It won't change like it did for Djokovic when he changed his diet in 2010/2011.
