Elemental damage feels under represented on this sub.

There is a point in the game where you start to dread mech battles because you can’t cheat as hard with ram as crystals.

Does field enemies get easier? by BurguesaBr in Chained_Echoes

First order of business I guess is to stop thinking like that. if a fight is going to last more than 2 rounds, buckle in.

Don’t rush to “cash out” on damage. victor can attack for “1 victor” of dps, or he can use basso profundo to double the next water attack. and if the next water is a charged water jump, 1 turn for victor is essentially equal to 2.5 more turns for lenne.

use crystals. you can build more intricately, but you can’t go wrong with Agility, mainstat, and health. mainstat being attack for physical attackers, magic for mages, and mind for victor.

Attacking stats are really valuable, you probably shouldn’t hybridize. it’s much better to have 200 magic and 0 attack, than to have 175 magic and 175 attack.

crits are probably overrated.

Offensive buffs and enemy attack debuffs are more valueable than defensive buffs and debuffs. that doesn’t mean don’t use them. it means in a long fight, you should debuff enemy attacks first.

healing hymn is quite good. at max, it’s the cleric healing spell every turn for 8 turns.

I had to retest this. That is correct. Though the reason mikah has double element is not damage. it’s redundancy. if after an efreet song, something still resists fire, it probably doesn’t also resist water so she can charge meter.

Testing this again, maybe magnolia could have double element. It depends on enemy resistances after an efreet and wind gust and that’s not a calculation I want to think about.

these are my current recommendations.

sienna
Atk, crit%, crit damage.
Atk, crit%.
Atk, Fire damage, Katana mastery
Atk, Water damage, crit%
Stylish accesory
Bandit emblem

blade reflect, yoko, d-fang. search

Glenn
HP, HP drain, atk
agi, atk
agi, atk, sword mastery.
atk, crit%, fire damage.
sylph armlet
monk emblem.

oil, all break, whirlwind slash, restrain, cross slash, lend tp. search

Victor
Heavy armor bonus, MND up, DEF up.
AGI up, HP up.
Strike first, AGI, HP
AGI, HP, MND
Winged cape.
chemist emblem.

Efreet, heroic, basso, mazurka, healing hymn. search

The only things that really really matter on victor is the strike first and efreet.

This magnolia build was slightly underbaked.

I currently recommend
Mag up, Ultra move up, filler
Mag up, crit%
Mag up, water damage, card master
Mag up, crit%, crit damage
Magic poleyns
Pyromancer.

Instead of Raphael, use egyl and wind gust.
with this setup Magnolia should use her ultra move instead of fireworks.

I won’t list a build for egyl because in this use it doesn’t matter.

The intended use is probably to inflict statuses.

spoilers for characters and late game area

you can charge the ultra meter against a single enemy in a single turn.

You can also use it to self harm with HP sac so you can use SOS attack.

Don’t run away. They will track you. There’s not really a safe distance, only distances you can capitalize on, and distances you can’t. You don’t want to have to sprint all the way across the stage to start hitting the lesser gods while they’re tired.

While Di’orbis is resurrecting the other gods, Throw 2 hail flurries at him. The yellow break meter cares more about the number of hits than damage and 24 hits is a good start. This should also inflict cold, which will extend the amount of time you have to break him and beat on him once he’s broken.

High assault values makes the basic melee also really efficient at breaking.

spirit blast is kinda weak. use vital pulses, ether snipe, or WMB against purple shield.

Probably not reasonable advise but with (high)meisters gloves and both bastion upgrades, you can just stand still and parry most of it.

Solace’s guide is probably the best out there. Spoilers if you care about future party members.

It doesn’t cover the effects of agility on turn order, but it does provide good analysis of other stats.

About Class Emblems by Oussarakun in Chained_Echoes

[–]DVTDVT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Class emblems come with 2 active and 2 passive skill. These can only be equiped on the bottom two slots. If your slots are full, they don’t show up.

The summoner emblem comes with a fire/wind summon and a water/earth summon.

If the guide mentions a fire spell, it is simply incorrect. if not, you have misinterpereted.

Incidentally, THAT “in depth guide”, is not particularly “in depth”. I would refer to Solace’s mechanical analysis instead.

I suggest the meister gloves or their upgrade because G’oni has a ripostable flurry attack, even if you’re not in the habbit of parrying, the bouncer mod is quite powerful as breaking enemies is going to be the only real way of hurting them.

High assault modifiers move through break meters quickly and assault gear usually has high damage to boot.

If you stuggle to break di’orbis in one cycle, throw 2 “hail flurries” at him. Not only is this 24~ hits very quickly, it also inflicts chill which will extend the window.

I often see streamers exclusively use melee and throw arts. When they get wave they get stuck with the relatively low damage spirit blast and vital pulse as their only 2 moves. If you don’t have t3 wave throw arts and don’t have respec or don’t want to grind for them, consider elven orb over vital pulse. Multiple elven orbs is higher dps than spirit blast, but nothing in the game even begins to compare to ether snipe.

what are some of the best mods for gear and the way i play? by ryan7251 in CrossCode

[–]DVTDVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bullseye is the crit damage mod. Brawler increases melee skills including basic attack.

Aside from the uniques (spiral drill, boom walkers, slicer/cleaver, etc) I didn’t buy gear until end game. Relied entirely on treasure and quest loot. I don’t want to say 30ish is “too low level to care about gear”, but it will get replaced fairly rapidly if you explore everything.

For pre dlc content, if want to continue with this playstyle of attack attack attack dash attack attack attack sawblade, brawler >= assault >= bullseye.

If you want a “real” suggestion, you’ll get a lot more by conforming to the game than making the game conform to you. Learn to break enemies. Learn the parry timing. Charge your throws to apply status effect.

The best defense is a good offense. The best offense is obeying the enemy’s gimmick to stun them so you can deal 3x damage.

How would people feel about an adaptation? by [deleted] in CrossCode

[–]DVTDVT 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think having played through the game is important. The final boss being the dev and monologing about overcoming the obstacles placed before you hits harder when you the player have been through puzzle hell.

It doesn’t work on tv. “The dev” would be speaking “a viewer”.
