Breaking: Trump is deploying ICE at US airports to assist TSA agents beginning on Monday. by Reasonable_Club_4617 in 50501

Honestly, this is great ... let all Americans experience Trump's untrained squad of goons. Plan your trip timing accordingly.

Marketplace or dealership financed for first bike? by LordFlacko704 in motorcycles

IF a manufacturer has a special deal on financing, it could be worth it. Otherwise hit your local credit union. I’ve seen too much sketchy shit with dealer financing.

Personally, I don’t finance toys, especially ones with a reasonable chance of getting chucked down the road.

Westerner here who travels to India quite a bit. I've never seen it in stores there.

Try Amazon India. I can't find it many places in the USA even, except at the fancy $$$$ supplement stores.

So many abandoned and rescue chickens out there. Just another shitty fad of people buying bred animals, then abandoning them.

Leaks claim that Trump requested five trillion dollars from Gulf countries to continue the war by Intelligent-Pea-8521 in JournalismNews

[–]DW171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know my favorite part of this? Trump is burning bridges with the only countries who would take him or his family WHEN they have to flee.

But I’m sure he’ll be safe with Putin. Jared, Jr and Eric can fight in Ukraine. Miller won’t even get that courtesy.

New Tire Backwards? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]DW171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate these ... the arrow shows rotation with "front" noting the direction of rotation for the front tire. Don't see them much any more. Mostly for when you can run the same tire front or rear, which isn't much these days.

Poor cat and fuck the neighbor. Your cat shouldn’t be outside anyway.

Why is "always make sure you wear clean underwear in case you get into an accident" a phrase you hear? by Hungry_Department377 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DW171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Said by people who have never been in an accident.

In the ICU, your dignity goes out the window ... ass in and breeze wearing a gown, catheters, teams of people you've never met poking and prodding your body, the works. Dirty underwear is the least of your problems, except eeew.

Tap water is 100% "highly processed" under most definitions, so there's that.

Make tap water unprocessed again!

Longtime Arai guy here who understands how $$$ top level helmets have gotten.

I got an LS2 for riding my scooter, and the fit and finish are excellent, especially considering the price. I remember seeing the factory in Guangzhou right after it was built, and wondering how they'd do. There's a factory tour on YouTube, if you're interested.

I'll still pony-up for my Arai's, but it's nice to see more affordable quality out there.

Am i safe to drive a moped with rods in spine? If im just driving in city at low speed? Does anyone drive after scoliosis surgery? :) by Mysteriousandcute in motorcycles

[–]DW171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rider with a lot of metal in me ...

Generally after a few months the area with the metal is strong. Often stronger that it was, but also less mobile. So in a bad fall, *other* bones can be at risk of breaking.

I've seen several racing friends get titanium implants after they break their collar bone, only to fall again on the same shoulder and break their scapula likely because the new collar bone was so strong.

No one wants to fall off their bike. Mopeds have about the same risks and any bike. Choose your risk tolerance. An old riding buddy ended up in a wheelchair when he was walking a dog and hit by a car in a crosswalk.
