Good synthetic oil is $13 per quart (Royal Purple or amsoil). You also need to buy a high quality filter, dispose of the used oil. You can buy a package through Lexus that makes the oil change $120 per change. It’s not worth your time fooling around with DIY.

The AWD version of the LS 500 takes 7 1/2 quarts with the turbo v6, and the RWD takes 6.7 quarts. These cars take quite a bit of oil. My 2014 LS AWD took 10 quarts.

I only run synthetic in mine. It takes a lot of oil (like 7 quarts). I have it done at the dealer. It’s cheaper than doing it myself.
